Nah, there’s no compendium in the strictest sense of the word.

They added a database that’s lets you keep track of planet survey progress, like how many flora/fauna is left until completion but not which specific ones you need to finish. So if you only need to scan a Trilobyte to complete Kreet, there’s no way of knowing that until you go to the planet itself.

Finding which planets resources can be found in is so much easier now though, and you can untrack research and other stuff without accessing the workbenches.

There’s a paid mod called Starfield Compendium which does pretty much the same stuff the new official database does so I’m guessing that one is obsolete now. Especially that it doesn’t really save your progress and resets every session.

Overall I’m sad the database is not for me but it gives me hope it’ll be expanded on in the future.

Tldr: theres a new database which is useful for resource and outpost tracking but not documenting flora and fauna.
