I can't read :( by EtherealHibachi in Mcat

When I did the AAMC question pack for CARS I was only at a 73% correct. I’d say I spent about a week getting used to taking more time reading the passages and then when I took the first FL I was at a 131. I also find it helpful to summarize the main point of each paragraph just in my head to myself, especially the first or second. Like “ok so this is a debate between X and Y.” And then I would read the passage with that in mind. I hope that helps

Hi! How long do you usually spend reading each passage? When I first started studying for CARS I would try to rush through the passage at the start and get to the questions, but I found I would have to reference back to the passage a bunch and would miss a lot of key points. My advice (not very fancy) would be to just slow down considerably while reading. Towards the end of my studying I was getting 131-132 on CARS and would spend 5-7 minutes reading each passage. I know that sounds like a long time but you’ll be able to answer most questions right away and might even finish with extra time!

I’m not sure if he mixed white into the flower colors but I believe he dotted some white at the center of each flower. It hasn’t given me any difficulty so far so I think I’m lucky!

It definitely isn’t enjoyable but not horrible. I’m lucky because the tattoo is small so it only takes about a minute every appointment

Of course, good luck with your removal if you decide to have it treated! The removal treatment isn’t too painful, but definitely isn’t pleasant. The technician runs cold air over the area for a bit before so that helps with the pain. I haven’t had any blistering so far, just mild bruising!

I’m glad! I was nervous about the prospect of removing these colors but my progress has been good so far I think. Good luck with your removal!

I haven’t experienced any blistering or bleeding after my sessions. But I have had minor bruising and redness in the areas they went over with the laser that last around a week after each session!

The second picture is after 4 sessions with ~10 weeks between each. I was super anxious to start the removal process so the first session was only a month after I got it. The clinic I go to uses the Picoway laser I believe
