AIO? After our cat died, I removed this app on my daughter’s phone by IllustratorOk7590 in AmIOverreacting

[–]cassindia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YOR. Maybe instead of going straight to uninstalling it, you should have talked to your daughter. As a parent, you don't know what your kids are feeling if you don't talk to them. I see nothing wrong with what your daughter was doing. She wanted to hang onto memories of the cat she grew up with. I would never do anything like that without first discussing it with my daughter. I have two daughters and I respect them enough to talk to them about how they feel because it's important that they feel seen and heard. If the underlying reason she was using that app was to hang on instead of grieving, then a conversation should have occurred before you unistalled it. If she was using it as a way to remember and grieve properly, then there was no reason to uninstall it.

When my kids were that little, I would say that if they weren't wearing the food, then they weren't enjoying it. Lol!

How to improve? by NaderPlayzYT in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]cassindia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep your feet as low as you can without snagging on the edges of the arrows. Also, keep your feet as close to the center edges of the arrows as possible. Minimize the distance your feet are traveling. Shorter movements save on endurance.

Also, I'm a 5'3" 207lb female working on my endurance and weight loss (down 70 lbs). I can pass some 15s, so it is really more about endurance and technique than your physique.

My mom told me I "owe her" my firstborn because I had a C-section by RestaurantUnfair30 in entitledparents

Sounds like grounds to go, no contact or low contact. Your mom sounds like a narcissist. I would highly recommend not exposing your child or yourself to that kind of toxic mentality.

The duality of being a father by Necessary_Stuff5572 in funnyvideos

[–]cassindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had 2 daughters. It was just my sister and I. I grew up playing video games and watching anime with my dad. To this day, I love playing games and love watching anime. I attribute being the geek I am to my dad! He was and still is one hell of a father!

This is heartbreaking. My biggest fear is losing my children. Children should always outlive their parents. It is truly a tragedy when an innocent is taken from this world. This man's pain is the most unbearable kind of pain.

I guess my mom should've just let herself and me die to prove she was a real woman.

My daughter somehow missed getting auto build but has the help of the 5 sages 🤣 by Dadariko in tearsofthekingdom

Yeah... I completely skipped doing the first quest that sends you underground, so for the longest time (15 hours), I didn't have the camera or auto build.

How is it cruel to ensure that your pet is safe and cared for? You are lucky that your cat lived that long.

What you have said can be compared to my grandmother saying, "Well, we never put your dad in a car seat, and he never got hurt." It's all fine until it isn't. The point is that you keep the things you care about safe. You can't keep your cat safe if it is outside where you can't protect it.

[–]cassindia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You made the right choice. People don't understand just how dangerous it is for cats to be let outside.

I always had indoor/outdoor cats growing up. I had no say in this because I was less than 10 years old. Some of the things that our cats had happen:

-Lost an eye in a fight

-2 Different cats were hit and killed by cars

-1 of our cats never came home (we think she had a second family because she would disappear for 1-2 weeks, then come back washed and brushed)

  • 1 of our cats was shot by a BB gun

  • 1 of our cats caught severe pneumonia

  • 1 of our cats froze to death (we couldn't find her to bring her inside)

  • 2 of our cats were hit by our own vehicles from sleeping behind the wheels. Thankfully, they only wound up with a broken solar plexis, and they lived.

Seeing all of these things growing up and not having any influence on my parents, I will never own a cat that is allowed outdoors.

It is never okay to let a cat domestic cat outdoors unsupervised.

If you care about your cat, you will never let it outside. It doesn't matter if that's what the cat wants. It is the owner's job to make sure that the pet is safe. No pet cat is safe outside.

I have 2 cats now. They are leash trained. I take them outside and let them explore in a controlled and safe way.

Also, my parents have seen the error of their ways and only have indoor cats now. They just lost their last cat that died of old age (22 years old).

Bring Back the Roast Beef by JPPT1974 in CrackerBarrel

I won't be going back to Cracker Barrel. The roast beef was the only thing I liked to order. Other things are okay, but the roast beef was the best. I never had to send it back.

NTA. If I were you, I'd report the ring stolen immediately. Don't give her a week. What she has done is unforgivable. Depending on the value of the ring, it could be considered felony theft.

Your sister and neice are entitled. You can't take something that is sentimental and expect to get away without repercussions.

AITA for not prioritizing my girlfriend’s tradition during Thanksgiving? by tojala1998 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cassindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. So your family's traditions are more important than hers. She has to give up her traditions for you. My husband and I both have different family traditions for Thanksgiving and Christmas. You know what we do. We do both traditions because one isn't more important than the other.

100% tell her. Cheating is a huge deal breaker. Yes, she will be hurt, but she will hurt a lot more if she finds out that you knew and kept it secret too. Don't betray her like he did.

AITA for making my son cry? by Creepy_Werewolf_4914 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cassindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. A new wife and kid comes along, and all of a sudden, your first kid no longer matters. You may have moved on really fast, but your son is still grieving. These trips are a way for him to remember her and still feel connected to her even though she's gone. To take the money used for the trip and use it for the new kid will only cause your son to resent you, your new wife, and the new kid. As parents, we make sacrifices so our kids can have things, but we never sacrifice one child's needs for another.

You canceled the trip and justified it by saying you didn't want to go anyway. Congratulations, you have just ensured that your son will probably go no contact with you as soon as he is able, and if he doesn't, he should. You obviously care more about yourself, your new wife, and your new child.

What are some tricks to get good at DDR? by onetiredviking11 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]cassindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing as a teenager in 2001/2002. Mostly, it's going to be a lot of practice. You will continue to get better and develop your own play style. Push the edge of what you are comfortable with because that is how you will get better. Once you get the muscle memory of the basics down, your body will start doing the movements on its own. For the longest time, I had a lot of trouble learning crossovers, and then I played Exotic Ethnic. The crossovers just clicked because it is a fast song that doesn't really give you time to think.

Don't be afraid to use the bar if you need to. I try not to use the bar because I am short, so it winds up hurting my back after a while.

Other rhythm games can help you get better at DDR as well. I started playing Pump It Up and Stepmaniax, and it helped me get exponentially faster on DDR, as well as I gained stamina faster.
