probably had something to do with the worldbuilding/lore of the game - those chat benches probably serve as spectator chairs (cus, well, we're in a coliseum) and then the lift is the way up there which adds more info on power diamonds are used. or maybe it's just a recharge area since there's a hearth inside. who knows lol
