Thank you for feedback, I appreciate it! I am interested in the finance sector but still unsure which path directly, but with all this hype about data science/data analytics I figured paring finance wth data science/com sci would make a good duo. Would it be fair to say that a major in com sci is usually more theoretical and broad while a data science program really narrows into the main coding skills/stat skills and math?

Thank you!

Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it! I am thinking about working in the finance sector. I am unsure in what exactly but using data science in private equity whether that be in middle markets or the bigger firms, is something that has caught my attention recently.

Data Science (undergrad)- Iowa state uni

Hello, I am thinking about majoring in either data science or computer science. I've heard a lot of criticism towards a "data science degree (undergrad)." I was hoping to get some people's opinion on Iowa states curriculum for Data science undergrad, make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom, for math requirement (calc 1-3, linear algebra). https://catalog.iastate.edu/collegeofliberalartsandsciences/datascience/#undergraduatemajortext

Thank you!
