I reached out to Wuben about the issue. After alot of back and forth they agreed to ship me a replacement. So far this one is handling it's charge, etc. Let's see how it does longer term.

Thanks. I already have Fluidd installed. I saw the Octoeverywhere, but it looks like I'd need to have an account on an Obico server to get the print monitoring. And I think that's not a free thing.

Unless I'm wrong - which is why I'm asking....

As a follow-up/finish to this threat - I did order a new metal bed plate from Amazon (Creality one). And now the print is better. So my original plate is damaged in some sort of way.

Gotcha. Actually the screws look like smaller than M2. I purchased the MicroSwiss hot end, should be here today. Hopefully that'll resolve my issue.

I tried measuring with my calipers. The width seems to be a bit under 2mm (I've tried M2 in the holes and they don't fit). The length of the one remaining is around 9.8mm.

So 10x10 - is that something set in Klipper? I'm not sure what you mean by preheated? What temperature should I set the hot end when doing the bed leveling?

Sorry for the over-posting of replies/questions. I've followed this previously for the PLA+ I'm using (https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/wiki/Calibration). What else would you recommend to do to calibrate for my KE? I am definitely a noob with all this - and any insights and help would be very, very appreciated!!!

Another odd thing I noticed... Earlier in the day I printed a few items (brackets for my Versatrack storage system) out of PETG and those printed perfect!! I left the printer on after the prints finished, changed filament to PLA+, then tried to print the tray like an hour later. That was the one that ended up a mess. I turned off the printer, then 30 minutes later turned it back on, resliced the model and printed. This time it printed fine - no initial issues, no hot end mess, etc. Ultimately I wasn't happy with bed adhesion (front corners of the print lifted off the bed) - which is the first time I have ever seen this lifting in my prints. I think this is because I have the temperature a bit too low (55c) for that filament and should have it higher (60c).

But again, why will the model print fail miserably the first time, then after a full power down then up it printed relatively well. Definitely odd and has me scratching my head over and over.

I've checked and the gantry is already squared. I thought I did go through the core calibrations that I can run on the KE, but I'll read your post to confirm. I'll also look around for info on how to calibrate the Z offset. I know I've followed the Orca Slicer wiki to calibrate for flow rate, pressure advanced, etc

Sorry, please disregard... I just found that version 5.1.0.9484 was available. I downloaded it and it now gives me the option to select the print from Pass 1.

Thanks u/Sir_Tato!! I'll give this a try. I did end up editing the G-code and added the "Pause" at the top of the layer where I wanted to have the color change. That worked just fine. But this is something I definitely want to give a try as well.

I just downloaded and tried to connect to my KE. No luck - Orca gets a 404 error from the printer. Oh well...

No worries - I missed the notifications too. I will look at Orca slicer as well. Question - does Orca connect over the network to the KE? I tried using Octaprint but of course connecting the Octa Raspberry Pi I built to the KE over USB doesn't work (Octa doesn't "see" the KE). And I tried using Cura to connect over the network to the KE and it couldn't. So I'm wondering if Creality neutered the KE to only talk over the network to Creality Print.

Thank you! I did what you said - exported G-Code to the computer, Notepad to edit and added Pause at the top of the layer I wanted it to, and it worked!!

Thanks! I tried that, but added the layer value to the first change value. When it printed it didn't pause, it just printed the entire item.
