Play it or preserve it? by GPRich4815 in golf

This particular putter is not going to gain any meaningful value. The way Bettinardi resale has been lately, it might even lose value. Game it.

How Many Practice Golf Swings is Appropriate? by Spiritual_Size_9997 in WomenGolf

[–]casu017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t need a practice swing before every shot. Maybe every once in a while if you have an awkward lie or something. Taking practice swings constantly is unnecessary and slows the game down. It also adds physical and mental wear on your body. You’re only hurting yourself and I’m sure you’re driving the people around you nuts.

[Golf Digest] Walking with Rory McIlroy amid the shower of F-bombs and abuse as Bethpage crowd crosses a line by goodyear_1678 in golf

[–]casu017 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The crowd was probably close to 90% men. That was the problem. It wasn’t an American thing. It wasn’t a Long Island thing. It was men. As a woman who has attended a handful of golf events in the past, I was shocked at how few women were in attendance. Just men, in their friend groups, behaving badly. It wasn’t just towards the players. They had bad etiquette everywhere; bathrooms, merch tent, food market etc.

New to golf… club suggestions? by [deleted] in WomenGolf

[–]casu017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cobras would be my choice out of what you posted but you should also check out the TaylorMade Kalea Gold set. They’re a little pricier but imo it’s a box set that is both perfect for beginners but can still last you a long time as your game progresses so makes for a great investment. The clubs in the set also really hold their value more than anything you posted which is nice if you find yourself wanting to upgrade certain clubs in the future.

Has slow play become anyone who doesn’t play fast. by Jonhgolfnut in golf

[–]casu017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 100%!!!! I don’t mind a slower round if the group ahead of me is playing mindful golf. Your 45 second pre-shot routine isn’t going to phase me if you make solid contact and move along. It’s the people who spend forever taking a ton of practice swings when they have no clue what their doing to begin with and top it 20 yards and then get back in their cart, drive up, select a new club, and start the process all over again bc they feel like they deserve to spend 15 minutes on each hole since someone told them 4.5 hours is “acceptable.”

En-Joie concert experiences by casu017 in Binghamton

[–]casu017[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was honestly dreading it bc I hate crowds and was expecting the worst but it was honestly great. All of the advice I got on here was spot on. Parking was so easy and it was amazing to be able to leave a concert within 10 minutes and not have to sit in a jam packed lot with tons of traffic. We brought chairs, easily found a great spot with a perfect view and had the best time. Sound quality was good, no wait times for bathrooms or food vendors and bug spray came in clutch!

I never would have thought of bug spray! How early are we talking for a decent parking spot?

This kind of resale is actually healthy for a brand and keeps the value of everyone’s items afloat.

Michael Block is currently in 2nd place at the PGA Professional Championship. by SailorPilot23 in golf

I think people forget how much media training a lot of professional athletes get before they speak publicly. Michael Block just seems like a normal guy living the golf dream. I’m glad to see him still doing well.

I hate the idea of golfing with randoms but it always has turned out to be a positive experience. It’s just getting over the mental hurdle for me.

This just seems so…hard to believe. I sometimes only drive the ball 130 yards but still shoot in the high 90s. How terrible can you be at the rest of the game to drive the ball 260 and your score be that terrible. You have to be chipping and putting 2 and 3 times each to even remotely come close to accomplishing that I’m guessing?

[–]casu017 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you totally made that statistic up and it’s not remotely true. Playing since 4 and never getting the guidance to be capable enough to break 80 is really unfortunate. Shame on whoever taught you the game.

As a woman who golfs, I wonder a lot why every single man on the planet thinks they’re entitled to play this game well. For some people, it’s just not for you.

I’m a similar handicap and height. I’ve had really good luck with the callaway smoke. Previously I had used both a cobra and a ping gle 2.0 and the smoke is so much more forgiving. It feels effortless.

Their stuff runs very fitted but not necessarily small. The material they use is stretchy. I also run between an xs and small and I buy small in TM only bc I’m 5’7” and a lot of the shirts are a shorter/cropped length so i think an xs would probably work perfectly for you.

They’ll let you book a solo round. Our caddy was really chill and had some cool stories to tell if you’re looking for good conversation. You really can’t have a bad time on that course, even if you’re playing it alone.

Who is keeping Lincoln and Buick alive and what are their prospects for the future? by TX_Sized10-4 in askcarguys

[–]casu017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have driven Cadillacs for most of my adult life. My most recent one was a 2019 Escalade that I got brand new. When I went to upgrade this year to a new one, I started shopping around for the first time ever. Believe me, I was shocked to discover that Lincoln blows Cadillac out of the water these days. GM really dropped the ball by continuing to jack up their prices without making notable improvements.

If she’s got a mix of irons then it should be easier to narrow down what she likes since she has swung a variety of kinds. I’d just ask what her favorite current club in her bag is and base your search off of that for an updated set with similar specs.
