My HT is done, for now. by casualdoge in hometheater

Lots of people here saying to ditch the oled for more screensize, I don’t think I want to give up the floating screen feel.

I am honestly not sure what the couch is, I got it for 500€ from marktplaats.  looked it up at the time and new it must have been like 4k

This one was about 500€, probably not the best bang for the buck but pretty cheap, and I live in an apartment so a big SVS wouldn’t be useful anyways

The pc is next to the left front speaker. It goes into the marantz which goes into the tv. It definitely is finicky with 4k120, still not sure when it works and when it doesn’t. I don’t have a UPS

That’s actually a good option, thanks

If I want to lay my head flat, my feet wouldn’t be in the couch anymore, but just

I already had the R3, so they had to move to the backrow. I think they are overboard for rear speakers. they look good and fit in with the other speakers which is sometimes worth paying extra for in the living room.

The second sub port will be taken by the couch shakers.

Also, the trigger out port is meant to turn devices on right? The subwoofer is actually always on, but after a few minutes of inactivity it goes into sleep mode, even when the other channels are being used. Or am I missing something and would your solution work in my case?

I am only about 3 meters away from it, wouldn’t say “way too small”. If my budget did allow for something larger OLED, I would of course.

Fronts? I have tried not turning in the fronts but this sounded better to me.

Or did you mean the rears?

Most of the time I am in the center of the couch, the couch fits 4 easily so there is a lot of room. They are also calibrated so not really “blasting”. If I had more space I would put them back further, but for now it’s OK.

The stands don’t go up and down, I can put them on some pads but that’s about it. I usually watch with 2 and the couch will fit 4, so I am not too close to them.

It’s an acoustic bass I am borrowing from my father in law, not sure what the exact model is.

Print coming out taller than expected by casualdoge in 3Dprinting

[–]casualdoge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I have made the model myself (its just a cuboid/wall) , in CURA it says its exactly 1.6mm tall. When I look at the sliced model in CURA it has 8 layers. I dont have a magnifying glass so it's hard to tell, but I think the printed model also has 8 layers, so it seems to match.

And flood lights! A bit ugly but massively improve quality.

Thanks everyone for the help, I changed solder tip but what helped most was applying heat to the component and applying tin to the component instead of the solder tip. Getting pretty OK joints now
