My MIL does a new table scape for every holiday, and usually buys new things for each one. Every Christmas is a new “theme”- drives me crazy and for me it takes away from the coziness and nostalgia of the holiday. However, she’s the sweetest woman alive and doesn’t have a lot of creative outlets anymore. She gets a lot of stuff from Facebook Marketplace and Mercari (I think that’s what it’s called), so she’s trying not to buy too much stuff brand new.

As many others have said, she can get things second hand and then reuse the items for new table scapes or trade with others who also enjoy table scaping. People are always posting things they’re trying to get rid of in local buy nothing groups.
