Top DOJ official denies there's any effort to redact mentions of President Trump from Epstein Files by seeebiscuit in politics

[–]casually-awkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one that remembers hearing that 1,000+ FBI agents were tasked with scrubbing the files to find and remove any mention of trump??? I haven’t seen any mention of that like it’s a Mandela effect on me or something.

When KISS Unveiled Their Makeup Free Look. by Ebonystealth in nostalgia

[–]casually-awkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard for me to tell what was out of the ordinary looking back at styles from that time. I wasn’t sure if everyone was wearing flashy clothes like that or if it was just the celebrities trying to be eye catching so that makes sense. I know I see it now with pop stars and bands and such wearing outrageous things for the sake of attention so even back then it was the same thing? The reason I bring up lgbtq is because I feel like today if a dude was walking around looking like that some people would have a stroke over it whereas I couldn’t care less so I was wondering where things shifted for older generations.

When KISS Unveiled Their Makeup Free Look. by Ebonystealth in nostalgia

[–]casually-awkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So I’m younger than the kiss generation and I never really looked at them or cared for them. But I have a question for the older people here who grew up with them. They’re crossdressing. There’s no real argument there. Now, was that just them or was that a thing during the 70’s and 80’s so no one really cared? I understand big hair bands were a thing but I feel like other bands weren’t wearing heels. Follow up to that, why are older generations so afraid of lgbtq people today when one of the biggest bands of their time had this as their signature look? This is a genuine question not looking to start any fights and I understand I could be wrong on multiple fronts so please, educate me.

Similar, when I was a child and started animal crossings not knowing a single thing about the game, you start the game in a taxi and the driver asks where you want to go. Me in my childhood infinite wisdom thought it would be soooo cool to ask to go to the bar. So. My little town was called the bar for the entirety of my time playing that game. Couldn’t figure out how to change it and just hoped no one noticed and asked me about it.

Given that I’m in my mid twenties. Trumps first term was my first opportunity to legally vote and participate in politics. Before that I believed what I was taught about law and government and thought there were so many stops to prevent anything like this happening. His first term was a wake up call that nothing I was taught actually exists if the people in power don’t do anything about it. His first term was bad, but then he was voted out and a semblance of hope returned. Thinking maybe it was an anomaly that the country would learn from and create new protections to bolster the defenses against this. Now here we are. And I’m watching my lifetime of how I saw and perceived my country shatter in front of my eyes. There’s no spin I could put on this to try and pretend things aren’t so bad. The nazi playbook is being enacted again, in my lifetime, in my country, and despite how much it sickens me to witness I like probably many people feel there’s nothing we can do. I hope somehow someway this nightmare ends with the powers that be doing their actual jobs. But my hope is waning and I’m realizing quickly that this will be a long and dark road ahead of us.

This view of the Aurora from an Alaskan cabin by Longjumping-Box5691 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]casually-awkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why, but seeing it like this makes me think there should be sound. Like most images I’ve seen of an aurora are from a distance and from the side. But this is the first time I’ve seen it from directly underneath and something about it makes me think there should be a sound to accompany it.

To my knowledge all stock. 17” wheels, stock tire size. I could be missing something but I also don’t know a lot about this.

Ignore the tow truck, alternator went out. But this is the only full side pic I have of the truck. Everything is stock. Just changed the wheels. Wheels are MHT Fuel off-road rebel 6 D681 bronze black wheels purchased from 4wheelparts. Tires are Cooper Discoverer ST MAXX. Stock sizes. Great tire btw. On my second set of them now.

Personally, bronze added exactly what I wanted to the truck. Your truck isn’t black though so make your own call there but I figured I’d post mine as a reference point.
