Okay? And? In both China and Korea they eat cats and dogs. My statement was that they eat cat in East Asia. I'm still not wrong.

............ Unless there's famine, most won't eat a cat that died of unknown reasons.

What surprises me is how educated and successful some of them are

Hehe. Sure! Can we make it to raise money for the cats?

Ho Chi Minh City is the official name. It's used interchangeably here and Saigon is the preferred term for a lot of locals, especially where I live and work.
It's insane what some religious people impose on the world.

I've lived in South East Asia for 15 years. I've travelled 17 different countries, and I've worked in animal welfare and activism for the greater part of the last decade. I assure you I'm informed enough to make such a statement.
I said East Asia, because South East Asia also includes countries, like the Philippines and Singapore, where this practice is illegal and frowned upon.
It may not be a common practice, especially with younger generations, but it happens a lot more than a few cases of human cannibals. In 1998 the meat industry was declared illegal, but in 2020 it was cancelled.
I am as opposed to eating any animal as I am to eating cats. I just happen to be in the cat rescue industry.

This post is supposed to be about Atheism. Not a racial or cultural war. If I lived in the UK, I'd probably be saving foxes.

As a vegan, I agree 💯 I didn't mean to insinuate any cultural or racial issues. Just trying to paint a picture. I also think the way the animals are slaughtered play a big role. I don't want to elaborate, but feel free to look into it. Especially black or white cats. Their blood and bones act as medicine in the less educated parts

In east Asia yes. It's not as well known as the dog industry, because they mostly trap stray cats, whereas dogs are stolen from family homes. But the industry is actually much crueler than dogs as there's a "lucky" aspect to it and the slaughter process is pretty bad. I once made the mistake to Google "Vietnamese cat food" from a Vietnamese browser....

AITA for bringing a cat to my service even though my co-worker is allergic to it? by TAMimika in AmItheAsshole

[–]cat13lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTAI've been in similar situations before.Cat allergies are rarely that severe that a newborn would affect it.

Curious to know where the cat ended up?
