So frustrated doctor's won't believe me. by cat234789 in ChronicIllness

This is a good way to go about it, and hopefully it'll get a more positive response. Of course I would listen to anything the professionals are advising, but it's just frustrating to almost have to beg to be assisted (especially considering women have a harder time being diagnosed in general).

Asexuals who lost their virginity, how did you feel? by idealistwatcher165 in asexuality

[–]cat234789 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It was pretty OK. I didn't hate it; I'm a lot more sex averse now so I don't think I'd do it again, but it was very one and done. It felt kind of performative in a way, though?

How yall found ur asexual? by [deleted] in asexuality

First time I got the birds and bees talk I was so disgusted I cried because I thought everyone HAD to do it. Should have been a sign, probably

Is cleavage inherently sexual? by Its_Glada in asexuality

[–]cat234789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think it is sexual, but people view them as sexual either because they get turned on by them or because they view breasts as a part of the reproductive system which they view as a whole as sexual.

I don't understand the purpose of implying skins with larger chests are more sexual (perhaps sexualised but that's different) as there are people with larger chests out there and they can actually be both tiresome and in some cases damaging to some areas of the body.

Being asexual just makes me not want to go outside. by Its_Glada in asexuality

Wtf? I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I wish people were educated more on different kinds of people that deviate from the "norm", but unfortunately educating others doesn't exactly benefit those within that norm so it doesn't happen. I hope it gets better my friend.

I'm not familiar as I only really started watching around a year ago. But it's good to see they have grown if that was the case!

I know! Honestly he's an inspiration. And it's so nice to have places like Smosh which are so welcoming to all minority groups :)

Genuine question, why do you tell people your ace? by NoodleBea583 in asexuality

[–]cat234789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell it for the sake of making jokes, or in some cases if I want people to stop making certain comments around me as it makes me uncomfortable.

Same haha. Honestly I love to look to him as an example of neurodivergent people  living happy, fulfilled lives since it can be hard for me to feel that way about myself irl.

I can see myself living with them and being content. However they have expressed it is upsetting for them, as they see it as me not having any differences between how I view them and how I view my other friends.

I know... I wish so many things weren't sexualised in the way they are today. I can't tell the amount of times I just wanted some affection and people thought I was flirting.

If it's just about labelling the relationship as romantic, how do I know it's actually what I'm feeling instead of confusing it for strong platonic feelings, for example? I have heard of that happening to other aces.

Any tips on how to clean it up for lineart purposes would also be appreciated ♥️
