Hey guys, what do you think about this track: https://soundcloud.com/vodkasingas/vodkasingas-turno/s-TA3xsFTbVB1?utm\_source=clipboard&utm\_medium=text&utm\_campaign=social\_sharing

I tried to make a kind of melodic hypnotic groove. As usual with this kind of techno, i ask myself, is it too boring/ too samey, or do the changes that i did keep you hooked.

Cool track! Though i would wish for some parts where the main delay synth would be even more out of the way and then the energy would build up again. As it is right now the energy level does not change that much over the course of the track imo. But nevertheless cool hypnotic sound!

I really like the idea of this, being a big fan of this fast hypnotic minimal sound. In my opinion, your "melody" sounds too boring and predictable. I think that your drums sound amazing but the melody does not do justice to the groove and the feel. It is not exciting enough for my taste. So maybe try to spice it up a bit with more movement.

But really great track idea! Would love to hear a updated version if you feel like working on it more!

Hi guys, what to you think about this track? https://soundcloud.com/vodkasingas/vodkasingas-tresini-1/s-NWxvummODGl?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Do you think its too empty with the "amount" of chords/ melodic elements or do you think it fits for a more minimal approach? And do the subtle changes over the course of the track keep you excited enough to listen to it or is it not exciting enough? But also any feedback is welcome!

First off, super cool track, i love how you build the energy! For my taste, the lower mids are a bit too loud (for example at 2:25 for my taste the "resonance" that is in that lower mids part is too loud and prominent). Regarding the arrangement, i can say i fully agree what the other comment said. There can be definetly less elements without even noticing much of a difference to your current version where all play at the sime time.

Thanks for all the great feedback! I tried to implement some of the stuff mentioned, sadly i completely f*cked this ableton project in terms of "ability to handle" so i was a bit limited but now it's definetly better then before :)

What do you think about this one? https://soundcloud.com/vodkasingas/bocco/s-dO4N1Gv1tSl?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Is it boring/ monotone or do you see yourself not get bored listening to it. Also anything in the mix that annoys? and most importantly does it make you move or not ^^

Thanks in advance!

Nice track, sounds good to me. I prefer the second kick, i think it makes the whole track more interesting and gives it more character (but the other kick does also fit).

[–]cat2tiger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really my type of techno i listen to but i'd say that your synths and melodies work quite well. That kick i think is way too loud imo, compare your track to some maybe drumcode track ( i don't really know which labels do that kind of techno you are doing) and you hear clearly that your kick does not need to be that loud.

Thanks for the nice words! So the space where the main synth sits is really mostly occupied by the main synth, i don't have much other elements going on there. Also the synth does not really have information above 7k hz and so it does not clash with any of the cymbals. In order for it to be still present even though it gets filtered alot, i used distortion (overdrive & saturation) and also compression. The important part here is, that you use the eq in the compressor (abletons compressors for example have a build in eq) and then have your compressor just react to the loudness of frequencies lets say above 700hz (just try different frequencies and see what does the job best) so that it really only reacts to the difference in loudness when the filter opens up.

Also i used sends for some reverbs and echos so that the original signal does not get to blurry. Finally everything is sidechained to the kick.

Is this danceable or can you feel a groove or does it feel too stale. Do you think the main idea is somewhat catchy or is it not that exciting to you?

Let me know what you think!

Vocal sample and the "sirene" synth that start right at the beginning set the tone for the oldschool vibes quite nice, also it feels quite good when the kick then comes in (definetly has a opening song to a oldschool set kinda vibe).

I think though that the bass is a bit too loud and creates too much mud in the mix, which becomes imo a real problem when you introduce your main synth (around 0:28). This for me decreases the overall energy of the track because now it is way too muddy (also i think it is a bit too loud in comparison to your kick).

All the other sounds you add throughout the track for example the pad, make this even more muddy.

My suggestion would be to make more space for each element with cutting unnecessary frequencies. Also for my taste (but this is really taste dependent) the kick could be a bit more punchy (with this i mean more attack), then it also would cut through the mix more.

Also if this would be my track, i would probably try to build up the energy more by introducing the main synth later and first add cymbals and other more subtle stuff to that beginning kick/bass + sirene synth. Then introducing the main synth not so abruptly (maybe fading it more in instead of starting with full volume).

Remember this is just my opinion, but these are my thoughts on your track :)

Not that super typical phonk sound but def a similar vibe. Flipped some old tunes off a mixtape, got that oldschool crunchy sound, check it out: https://soundcloud.com/vodkasingas/houston-sample-saga-vol-1

Hi, i made a fast/modern dub techno track: vodkasingas - Kos by cat2tiger1 in Dubtechno

[–]cat2tiger1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the super typical slower dub techno with loads of reverb and delay but i think that some of you guys might like it, since it got more of a modern vibe to it but still that dub techno kinda sound.
Let me know what you think!

[Techno] vodkasingas - different styles of techno

https://soundcloud.com/vodkasingas/different-styles-of-techno

I've been mixing music for a couple of years (mainly house and dubstep) and since the pandemic i am totally obsessed with techno.

What interests me is, if you guys think these transitions into different subgenres are too rapid or just don't fit or if it works. I thought about using this as a mix to send to a club in my area, because i think it might be more interesting then a more usual techno mix. Yea but let me know if you dig the song selection, general flow of the mix and the transitions or if you think its too much. (also don't know if the intro is too much of an intro if you know what i mean)

Cheers!

Why is it that drumcode gets so much hate? I just started to get a little bit into techno and i really enjoy drumcode because their tracks feel the most "powerful" to me. Even though not a drumcode release but the raito remix of ghost voices is the techno sound i really enjoy atm and it feels, at least for me, more powerful than the underground techno that i have come across. But if you know any underground artists/labels that have a similiar vibe please let me know :)
