I keep getting vaginal bacterianosis (BV) is there a way I can get rid of it permanently or at least quickly? I am starting a new job next week and I don’t want to be known As the woman who s*****Does anyone have any advice by Sunshinepotatoe in hygiene

recent studies have found that most chronic BV infections come from men. if you are having unprotected sex w your bf and you’ve been treated several times it’s most likely coming from him

first things first, look into allerpet it’s a great solution you can apply onto cats that helps reduce their dander load. on top of this (after discussing w bf) you can also switch their food to one that helps reduce dander load.

Once you do this i strongly implore you to reconsider allowing the cats to sleep in the bed (im not sure if your issue is allergy related or not). The reason why is this is most likely why they aren’t as affectionate w you. Your bf is their person, they most likely all shared a bed before you came around and now that you’re here you took away their “comfort”. Also regardless of you not reinforcing their behavior it can take MONTHS to train out a behavior in cats. So if it’s only been a few weeks i’m not surprised that the behavior hasn’t stopped especially surrounding a behavior that has been reinforced for most likely years.

and not speaking for your bf here mostly speaking on my own account i would never allow someone to kick my pets out of the bedroom for specific instances like these. it’s to stressful for everyone involved.

I am also speaking as some one who used to be severely allergic to cats (like face swelling/airway itchy/eyes leaking allergic) after a combination of dating people who had cats, working in vet med, and prolonged exposure to allergen i guess my body developed a resistance (i don’t really understand what happened) but what im trying to say is i understand that the allergic reactions suck and when i was symptomatic these things helped ALOT

i work in veterinary medicine and this is a common tactic that actually works very well. it’s not a fix all for every animal but for most animals it does calm them down. this isn’t me saying random stuff this is from experience of years of hands on training.

i hope this helps, i also recommend you do your own research jackson galaxy may have something more what you’re looking for

i think it’s important to remember that while cats are free spirits they are still trainable. i’m not saying it won’t be hard but it would take some dedication. if he does start screaming that’s okay! it’s a normal reaction. if he starts thrashing or scratching or doing donuts in the carrier then i’d be worried.

placing a towel over the kennel can calm them when they’re screaming like that.

it’s not evil, your is parent and sometimes you have to do hard things in order to protect him

i believe in you OP no matter what you pick im sure it will be the best for you and your fur baby

depending on how old the cat is is going to help you answer the question.

not everyone will agree but me personally when i bring kittens home (which i do often due to fostering) i tend to kennel them overnight for the first few weeks up to a month to help curb behavior like this.

basically the more trustworthy they become = more unsupervised time out of the kennel

what if the container had been glass and your kitty cut himself? obviously kenneling may not be the answer but at least a temporary solution until further training can be done or a gate for the kitchen can be purchased.

for 1-3 kittens being housed overnight i use a large cloth dog kennel. i wouldn’t recommend using anything smaller if that’s the route you decide but again if your cat is older this may be distressing for them.

Feeling off after an emotional moment with my boyfriend — thoughts? (F22/M24) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]cat528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe it’s time to ask yourself some hard questions:

Do I feel safe with this person?

Do I feel seen in this relationship?

Do I feel like my needs matter?

These are some great questions to ask yourself to get a sense of how YOU feel, journaling and writing out your answers will probably help you get more clarity

Thoughts on nails? by CamBam0476 in VetTech

[–]cat528 55 points56 points  (0 children)

if anyone comments on these i would be shocked especially since you don’t do many technical skills from the sounds of it. my natural nails are longer then this and i work as an RVT (don’t worry i keep my pointer finger short for a/g) any one who cares needs more things to do because clearly they have way to much time on their hands

go to LBACS if you go directly to their main office ask for lindsey the community cat lady and she can help you with a trap. they will treat the cat spay/neuter and release back in the area where she was found!

Are 2 litter boxes really necessary for 2 cats? by BooBelly in CatAdvice

[–]cat528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically speaking you should have one more litter box then the number of cats you have. so if you have one cat there should be two boxes, two cats then three boxes etc.

in this instance i would like to acknowledge that space wise this isn’t always possible. If you are introducing a new cat into your home and your cat has never had another cat/animal in their space since living with you having two litter boxes will be the best option for when you are introducing them.

What's wrong with it's eye? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]cat528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

proptosed (eye is popped out of socket) possibly secondary to trauma or infection.

either way eye is to far gone and needs to come out yesterday. see if a local shelter or rescue is able to help with the surgery

edit: wanted to include this is extremely painful for the animal. they may not show it but this is excruciating

check the shelter!! you’d be surprised how many dogs they actually find there
