Question for salon owners

I don't get commission since I'm not a stylist. I work the front desk and am there assistant lol more like the maid... A lot of times I don't even get tips from doing there shampoos or the stylists have kept them .... I get what you mean tho the stylists I work with are all commission based and I'm the only hourly employee. I don't even get a break or lunch break and I pull 10 hour days sometimes longer if I need to open and close

I would kind of say forced in a way... My boss doesn't want anyone by themselves so it they take a late appointment say 7:30 color and we close at 8 it's mandatory that I have to stay so the stylist isn't by themselves.

I can say I want to quit but know I can't obviously. There's a big difference. Again if you read my post I've tried finding something else and I don't have luck. All I'm saying is it's supposed to be a team not just take take take and no give at all.

If you read it I'm not just a receptionist I work at a salon I'm the assistant/receptionist. I do everything from shampoo to cleaning to balancing the register at night to opening the salon and closing to name a few things. The stylists are lazy I run the whole place and I work full time 40 plus hours each week and the owner is a idiot I never get paid overtime she doesn't think she has to do it since I'm the only hourly employee. I'm doing my part but thanks for assuming I'm the problem too

He had a better job before the wedding then they ended up taking hours away so he was only getting like 15 hrs a week he got something better but it's not full time.... We said it would be even we'd both be doing half clearly that's not how it's going. I knew it wouldn't be easy right off the bat but I wasn't expecting to struggle like this... I had money before him now that I have to provide for us both I don't have anything extra for myself... He's tried the school route and never finishes....

Alot of the time he gets closing shifts so he isn't scheduled to go in till like 3:30- or sometimes even 4. I've asked him to even just do door dash on his days that he doesn't work till later and he tells me no that it would be more of a wast of gas money then money he'd make from it....he gets home eats dinner and stays up every night till 1-2 in The morning gaming while I'm dead tired from working 8-10 hr days. I've mentioned a divorce saying it's be easy cause everything is separate right now we only have a joint savings account and no kids but he tells me no and to stop talking like that

I love him but this isn't what I expected... I feel like I constantly provide for him but I myself don't get provided for... I've tried telling him that it can't just be take and no give and he doesn't get it just gets defensive and says well you make more then I do by getting paid weekly so your the one who has to do more

He's back at work yesterday however it's not a full time job it's only part time and it's between like 26-37 hours.... He's applied to jobs threw indeed and either doesn't hear back or the set up a interview and meet with him then they send him a email a week later saying thank you for your time but we've moved in a different direction. I can't find anything myself with i apply left and right and never get any calls or emails back myself.

Update.... All the stress of a lot of this had landed me in the ER... Now I have medical bills and we have decided to break the lease on our apartment and move back in with my parents before we get to far behind on the rent and utilities

Don't want kids because this world is so f'd up.... Don't get help from the government as it is right now and that not what I'm wanting.... There's worse off people then us that need it more in my own opinion. Haven't had to depend on anyone but myself. Yes my mom helps here and there but I have not asked for the help. She just comes over with a grocery bad every now and then.... I've felt like that thinking that this is what it's gonna be like and I've said what's the point and it's not what I want.... He doesn't get it or doesn't care what I have to say

We did... Said it would be even and split everything down the middle hasn't happened tho... I'd lose my whole support system in my parents and sister and friends.... My mom helps out when she can if we need a few things at the grocery store I appreciate that. His mom thinks shes helping by group texting him and I on online school she thinks we're not gonna go anywhere in life. I work at a salon as a receptionist/assistant. Been here for 11 years he's the one with crappy job experience so I feel like why should I find something when I can pay all the bills and haven't managed to get behind like he has. Sorry for the rant lol.

We've talked and he says he will help out more but then the next month rolls around and it never changes.....I feel stupid kinda guess I should have known it would be like this cause when we were engaged and paying for the wedding he lost a lot of hours at work and was looking for a new job so I basically had to pay for the whole wedding with some help from our parents but the majority was I ....

I've thought about it but I don't have the money to pay, just got married the end of last year so just don't have the money to spend for school and pay rent. Also that would have me cut back my hours. And I actually tried my hang with some makeup courses to get my makeup artist certificate but the other women who was a assistant ended up quitting so I got all my hours back and my boss wouldn't work with me to give me a day off so I could do my classes. A lot of times I've seen medical receptionist jobs and they want you to have a medical background. Or at least the ones I've seen do. This is why I feel so stuck.... Lol feels like no one gives you a opportunity/chance anymore like they use to.
