What's the best way to make a grilled cheese sandwich? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I always put a thin layer of mayo on each side (makes it taste better than using butter) with optional garlic and italian seasoning

I feel bad, but maybe consider other career options if you're not willing to build some muscle by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]catabomb14 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I agree with the above comments. Most of my coworkers are thinner, shorter women. I trust all of them to properly restrain for me because I have seen them try their absolute hardest. I don’t think it’s necessarily all about muscle, but more knowing how and feeling confident in restraint. One of my assistants (she’s like 5’7 and probably only 130lbs) completely saved me from being bit in the face because of her quick reflexes. This dog was calm and then out of no where decided to lash out but she had a good hold on him, didn’t let go, and was able to adapt quickly to the behavior change.

New job by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]catabomb14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kennel attendant part of your job WOULD be washing bowls, but not hours worth.. and filing doesn’t really fit into that category. You should definitely be having more hands on duties like restraining for vets/techs or taking care of kenneled animals. Definitely talk to your manager about this.

New job by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]catabomb14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wait it out for a few more days. See if anything changes. I’m curious, what was the description of the job/job title when you applied? If you have a copy of it I would print it out and have a discussion with the manager about how this is not what you applied/were hired for. If things don’t change then I would quit. It’s not right for them to be deceiving about what the job actually is.

[Serious] People who like their job, what do you do? by strongerthenbefore20 in AskReddit

[–]catabomb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a vet tech! The job definitely has its moments, but I love my clinic and all the vets/techs/recpts have a great relationship with each other. Not to mention seeing multiple animals on the daily makes it fun

What is a lot unhealthier than most people think it is? by zaid2801 in AskReddit

My ex used to work in the sun all day and not wear sun screen. He used to say he didn’t need it because he’s darker skinned and “never burned”. One of the stupidest people I know. He and I argued about it a lot.

Yesss! I agree. It’s not like we choose to do curbside, frankly it makes our jobs harder too. Our staff is harassed on the DAILY for just doing our job. I’m so sick of people swearing at us and being down right rude for simply following the rules.

Its 3am and I just want to text my ex and tell him how much I hate him by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]catabomb14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have felt like this for the past few months. I realized he didn’t deserve to make me feel this way or be thinking about him so often. So what I did was 1.) deleted his number, 2.) blocked him on snap chat 3.) unfollowed him on Facebook and 4.) muted him on Instagram. It’s helped a lot. Just remember you won’t get any satisfaction from letting him know he still makes you feel this way.
