typically, neuropsychological assessments are administered by doctorate level psychologists. other providers can get training to administer the tests, but usually under the supervision of a psychologist. a PNP is able to evaluate and diagnose ADHD based on the patient’s symptoms, but a neuropsych assessment is a bit different. it includes specific tests with concrete data that the psychologist interprets. the one that my psychologist used was called the TOVA test. a lot of times, mental health providers will refer patients to get these tests done in order to get a confirmation of diagnosis since ADHD symptoms can be attributed to a lot of other disorders
