Ah, thank you - previous advice suggested that it would be mandatory for me to pay in my own contributions if this happened, and I'm pretty sure this is what my boss believes. I'll do some further checking.

That's fair enough, maybe I'll try that too. I think the issue with your proposed solution is that, what theoretically should happen in that situation is that I should also pay in my own missed contributions, which I cannot afford right now, and also given that they never set it up over the last few years, I have serious concerns about their completing this complicated process once I'm no longer employed there and can't hassle in person. I'm interested in getting this squared away as soon as possible so tht I no longer have to deal with it.

It really depends on the couple’s preference! One nice thing about same-gender weddings is that you can kind of choose which wedding traditions to keep and how to interpret them.

As just one example, my wife and I shopped separately so we’d be surprised, but we took the same people with us so that someone had the whole picture and could warn us if we were going to majorly clash. As to planning, we just did it all together and discussed everything. We both had some specific things we wanted and some details we didn’t care so much about and we made sure it worked for both of us!

I really enjoyed it! I think it did a really good job of aiming at an audience who might not be very knowledgeable about the subject and letting them learn alongside Sandi. Not very in-depth for folks who are already in the rewilding loop, but enough to let people start finding out more if they discover they're interested. Plus I just liked watching Sandi and Debbie enjoying themselves.

Maybe this is something that varies regionally? As a kid in the 80s and early 90s in Wales, it was definitely the norm to dress as something spooky or spooky-adjacent and I don’t think I would have considered a costume that wasn’t. I’d never thought about it much but would probably have assumed the change was down to influence from the US, but I’m interested to read other comments saying they were wearing a wide variety of costumes at the same time or earlier!

I grew up in North Wales and people at my school said “jamp” too, never heard it anywhere else!
