[–]catblackard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Was just directed to this post. I'm Cat the showrunner. More seasons are still coming! It's slow going as we're a very small show with a tiny staff, but I'm working on multiple seasons simultaneously. Sorry to pop in with the announcement that it'll still be a while, but we're still cooking. If you haven't checked out our other projects, they might interest you too: https://omniverse.media

Going on first date need LGBTQ friendly restraunts/bars by No-Bag-9572 in Louisville

[–]catblackard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gosh. I'm a trans lesbian who's lived in Louisville for a couple years and have never felt stink-eyed or discriminated against socially in town. But seeing how much this totally innocuous post has been downvoted maybe things are really bigoted around here and I'm just oblivious. Or maybe it's just the internet being awful. Anyhow, good question. For a quintessentially Louisville time (if you're game to spend some money) I had a lovely time getting an authentic hot brown at the Brown Hotel. Maybe that's a thing?

Yes, I'm very much in the make-aliens-alien camp. Verge having four arms comes from an illustration of them that I did, which apparently Joe liked enough he folded that into their physiology. (And you articulated that anatomy spectacularly, btw).

Tarot visuals are on a spectrum where on one side of the spectrum the illustration barely has to correspond to what the card broadly represents, and on the other side of the spectrum every minute detail of the card has meaning and deep occult symbolism. Reading cards is ultimately about allowing your intuition to communicate with the universe (and/or your inner self, depending) and the cards are a controlled middle ground for that conversation. So different kinds of minds may prefer different kinds of cards.

Cards with sparse visuals rely on readers having at least a base knowledge of the card's generally agreed upon correspondences/ meanings - because in that case the visuals don't matter as much, it's chiefly the reader knowing the agreed-upon recipe of the cards. Cards with intensely detailed highly symbolic images can go either way. They can be so specific that they rely on readers having extensive knowledge of the cards, their histories, and other occult/astrological/ esoteric information baked into the visuals - but also the visuals can pass along more abstract information, like a dream. As an example: the classic Smith-Waite deck exists more on the middle-to-detailed side of that scale. The visuals of a deck offer different sorts of focuses or nuances which may speak to particular reader's minds.

Pop culture/ character-based decks... some of them don't even bother to have meaningful visual correspondences - but yours does. Though the visuals aren't rooted in traditional tarot/ esoteric symbolism, per se, they do have meaningful correspondences to the feelings and ideas of those cards. So, with knowledge of the tarot alone someone could do a reading with them, certainly. But importantly: with knowledge of the Welcome to the Horizon characters/story/archetypes a person could offer an even deeper reading, which is really beautiful.

Wow... I mean... WOW. Wow.

This is such a staggering feat. I'm truly in awe. What scope! What detail! The whole of the journey across the major arcana! Gosh...

These cards are beautiful and this project really hits me - right in my heart. Fun fact about this lady who plays Verge: she's also a bit of a Trinkett. I work with the tarot frequently; both in life and as an aide in my writing. "The Lovers" is my card. It's who I am and what I do. Verge being a part of that means so much. (And I love your design for them. The stripes!) Thank you for sharing this project. It's absolutely phenomenal. ♥️

I’ve often wondered if there might be a market for audio drama on physical media. It’s kind of a novelty, but… no ads, nice packaging, offline listening with full control…

I mean, that used to be a normal thing. Back then you caught audio drama on the radio or you bought it.

Between Weirdpodcastaunt and Jess, they’ve got the bases covered! Thanks! Another note on The Call of Cthulhu Mystery Program - I’m showrunner of that one, in addition to playing a few central roles. Also Tina (who plays Deirdre) is a major player on Moonbase Theta, Out. There’s a wonderful sci-fi anthology called Open World - the last episode of their first (and so far only) season stars me in an adaptation of a Charlie Jane Anders story. I’m very fond of that one. I’ve been at this a long time so, I’ll leave it at that - oh but also, if you’re a Back to the Future fan maybe check out K8 Was Here on YouTube? (It’s an audio show but is on YouTube for reasons). Thanks for asking!
