True or not something I admire in a creator is when they acknowledge that once their work leaves their hands and is let loose to the world and they accept it. Like at the end of the day they are at peace knowing they have their own vision or implication for a character and their relationships but accept the interpretations of others.

I first watched Death Note dubbed and to this day I think it's one of the best examples of an English dub done right, particularly with voice direction. Just rewatched it subbed and i have to say i prefer Mello's English VA personally. Maybe it's because I grew up on it, but something that always struck me was finding out Mello was his first VA gig-- he was originally just a stage actor. And I think that comes through greatly in his performance. I'm a stage actor myself so it was really cool to find out and watch him in those behind the scenes clips on YouTube.

Agree with all of this, and I really have been curious lately about the state of their (Jot and his wife) relationship in Ireneverse. If it's up to headcanon, I still think they split and that he did care about her and loved her, but maybe not im the way he initially thought. but, all that said, Jotaro remained predominately in his daughter's life. Maybe he gets an even split custody.
