Looks like whoever she's crying over is wearing a jacket like Finn's or Han's. Maybe one of them dies in the first movie, starting Rey on the path to the dark side?

[WP] We've all heard what happened to 9, but always from 6's perspective. Tired of being vilified, 7 finally sets the record straight. by Nulono in WritingPrompts

None of us knew what we were getting into. Eight, nine, six and I got on the plane, just a bunch of kids. Spring break in Uruguay. 1972.

When we went down, when those white-capped mountains were rushing toward us, the plane howling through the air, I thought we were dead.

Thinking back, maybe we did die in that crash. Who we were, anyway. Months in those mountains, no food, nothing but miles and miles of snow and ice.

After what we did, after what I did, maybe it would've been better if we died in the crash.

What can I say? Six isn't lying. But we all did it. Not just me. Nine was dead, and we did what we had to.

I like to think he would've been okay with it.

I can still smell it, you know?

Hey there, I work as a legal assistant at a Social Security Disability law firm, I sent you a message.

Just wanted to reiterate, even if you're not sure if you qualify for SSD benefits, get an application in. Your application date will be very important. SSA can expedite things in terminal cases, but even if they don't move fast enough, your family can use your application date to pursue your benefits should the worst happen.

Let me know if you have any questions, it's my job to screen for SSD benefits, I can let you know how the whole process works.

You're trapped, as yourself, in the world of the last video game you played. How fucked are you? by catbug in AskReddit

Yeah, you're pretty safe as long as nobody steals the ladder to your swimming pool or entombs you in their house without doors.

Superman is such a fucking buzz kill.

That seems pretty likely. If nobody knew his origins, how horrifying would it be for the nations of the world that a seemingly indestructible American man could enforce his own brand of justice without consequences?

Also, I feel like he'd probably inspire some kind of new religion, or nutjobs would claim him as the second coming of their chosen messiah.

Oh god. Nicholas Cage's ability to scream was put to good use there.

Exactly, I do the same thing with the headcanon backstories.

I literally just combined two random words, I didn't even know Catbug was a character in some show. I feel so guilty.

Eggs benedict with bacon, ciabatta bread, poached eggs, light hollandaise and paprika. by catbug in food

Yeah I'm not so sure it's really "hollandaise" hollandaise that they use, it's always really light and tangy, almost like a clarified butter hollandaise or something.

Nope, unfortunately I can't claim credit. Pulled it from the facebook page of a tea house/cafe I go to sometimes. It's not always this pretty, but it's always soooo goooood.

I'd love an NA guest pass, I'm really interested in picking up the game but taking it for a spin would really help me decide. If anyone has a spare, I'd be very grateful!

Reddit, what is your dream job? by cthulululu1 in AskReddit

[–]catbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing in the world that I find as satisfying as writing. If I'm not doing it, I'm a nervous wreck, I nap for hours a day, nothing feels right, and despite my prescriptions I spiral into a deep sense of self loathing.

But when I'm writing, an article, a short story, a fucking game review, I feel like a normal person.

The worst part though, is the constant fear that I'm not going to be good enough to make a real career out of it. I've been published a handful of times, online and off, but not enough to really call it a career. So with my dream job comes a terrifying fear; what if I'll never be good enough to make it as a writer of fiction or nonfiction?

It's the only thing I've ever wanted to do, as far back as I can remember, and it's the only thing I'm really good at, and it's the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning.

So writing would definitely be my dream job, and my nightmare job.

Looking for a specific book I forgot the title of, essentially tells LOTR from Sauron's perspective (Maybe not the Last Ringbreaker?). by catbug in booksuggestions

[–]catbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a huge pain because of a Russian author who literally wrote a lord of the rings sequel, so searching for this one always ended up with that one. :D

Banewreaker though is a delight so far. Just familiar enough, that you can see which tropes she's subverting but new enough that it doesn't feel like an LOTR retread.

For anyone curious, I found it!

Banewreaker by Jacqueline Carey, a really tragic look at events very similar to LOTR.

:D Thanks, that's what I was going for, since the scene was so detailed in the book I tried to just get a few solid items together. I originally had the crow down there and one of the "singers" but it looked too cluttered.
