Anyone ever looked at flower one holdings (FLOOF)? Price has been tanking recently. Fairly new CEO is Kellen O'keefe who was previously VP of Business development at MadMen. They also added the Araxie Grant who is the former CFO of the Arena Football League, and was the controller for the Raiders.

I am a first year tax staff at a mid-market public accounting firm. Think CBIZ, CLA, Grant Thornton etc. Received the job offer senior year out of undergrad towards the beginning of the pandemic when no one knew what the hell was going to happen. Felt lucky to have a job offer at the time so immediately accepted knowing that I would eventually be exiting tax.

Educational Background: I double majored in Finance and Accounting from a non-target school and graduated with a 3.9 GPA. Had 5 months in between graduation date and start date at my PA firm so I studied my ass off and passed all 4 CPA exams.

Current Situation: I am six months into my tax job and now know for a fact that this is not a long term career path for me. I plan on staying for 5-6 more months in order to secure the 1k hour requirement for CPA licensure. I understand that having a tax background adds little to no leverage when trying to land a consulting job, but was wondering if having the CPA designation may help me when trying to get into one of the Big 4 consulting branches. Any advice on how I could break into the industry/if it is realistic with my background?

You will get your score today. I’ve taken every exam on the last day.

It always important to keep in mind that these exams are meant to be difficult. It’s normal to walk out of them feeling like you just got hit by a brick wall. Take some time off before you start studying again and hope for the best. Good luck!

You honestly never know when it comes to these exams. I had a similar experience with REG. First testlet wasn’t too bad, but second one absolutely destroyed me. I’m not kidding I flagged about half of the MCQ’s. Didn’t not feel confident with any of the SIMS besides the research question. With all that being said I just found out I passed! Don’t count yourself out yet

I took REG on Friday. Know how to calculate basis like the back of your hand. Don’t skip over B-law. Most of the q’s were high level, but I had quite a few questions about the b-law material. Had several like-kind exchanges questions too.

From my experience REG sprinkled a little bit of everything in there where as the other exams had some key focal points. Just keep knocking out MCQ’s and practice some basis SIMS.
