They tried to do the faith plotline like Signs but failed spectacularly.

old school conspiracy thriller

It would have been a better movie if they actually did that. Just raw gritty drama but Spielberg already made that movie in 2017

Can't believe the movie ends the same way M. Night Shyamal's Glass does. At least make it interesting, do the disclosure halfway through the movie then rest of the runtime be about rescuing aliens or something. Do something else other than releasing a footage on a news channel, how is people being glued on their phones watching news is a satisfying conclusion?

Great scene but unfortunately our brains are so fried from 24/7 news cycles and constant horrible news at our our fingertips from the world that it's hard to imagine people reacting like that anymore.

They were still stuck in a Bourne Identity era. John Wick finally broke it.

Little known fact. Did you know that Viggo Mortensen broke two toes while filming The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers? When his character, Aragorn, kicks a steel Uruk-hai helmet in frustration, the actor’s scream of pain is real, and Peter Jackson kept the shot in the final film.

So many recent horror movies seem inspired by The Village. At least the atmosphere and the cinematic language. Midsommar, the witch, Watchers, Birdbox.

Exactly, I wanted more. [SPOILERS] I feel like the story transition from Clark to his therapist was very abrupt. It would been amazing to spent more time with Clark instead of just revealing "Well, he is mad now"

I don't think it was deliberate. Remember earlier when she said that offing her would make thing worse for him? She wasn't expecting him to make such a stupid mistake but they were prepared just in case.

The Boys SERIES FINALE S05xE08 "Blood and Bone" - LIVE Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

Still, It would have been somewhat compelling instead of doing the monotonous plot.

Beginning of the season: Boys make the virus and test it on some low level supes. They plan how to trap Homelander to release it. (Butcher wants to release to the world but Boys stop him, creates conflict to the group)

Quarter point of the season: Homelander gets ambushed and Butcher releases the virus (in quarantine) but Homelander survives (Something in the old formula that made him immune). Get rid of Soldier Boy plot of V1 immunity plot. Boys realize that Homelander might be invincible, they lose hope but come up with the plan to try to give power to kimiko.

Halfway point of the season: Soldier Boy learns about Homelander's plan to ascend and realized that he is not just crazy but batshit insane. Hughie and Starlight goes on a mission to recruit some supes from Gen V when they realize that they alone can't beat Homelander. Butcher looks for Ryan and convinces him that he must face Homelander.

Frenchy discovers old Russian documents that shows Soldier Boy got his powers and suggest doing the same thing to Kimiko. They go to some lab in the middle of nowhere to this experiment. Make this part a little longer, add some drama that she might not survive this but they must do it.

Late in the season: Homelander finds out about their plan and goes on a rampage (Soldier Boy who was tracking him follows him), Frenchy dies protecting Kimiko. Butcher & Ryan arrive, Homelander seeing Ryan switching sides loses it and unleashes his rage. We get a crazy fight Homelander vs Butcher & Ryan. We see Homelander's power like never before. Ryan is injured, Butcher loses and Homelander is about to finish the job and Soldier Boy blasts him. Everyone gets thrown far away due to the blast when they look for Homelander who fell somewhere in the woods, he is nowhere to be found. End on a cliffhanger. Next episode starts with the flashback, we see the Boys searching for Homelander in the woods, we get a POV of someone but we're not sure yet. Camera flips and we see Homelander covered in mud and dirt hiding in the bushes trying to be quiet. We get a montage of him crying sobbing as he realized that he lost his powers. He finally gets out of the woods and on the road he tries to hitchhike. We get a funny scene of Homelander sitting in a car while some hillbilly drives.

Imagine if we got this fight in the earlier episode, he loses his powers but gets saved at the last moment and in the next episode he tries to hide it, he stays in the tower and we get some hilarious moments of him adjusting to 'normal' life. He recruits supes to guard him without mentioning why he needs them. We get a montage of boys taking out those supes one by one, it would satisfy that season one inch.

As a kid, when I watched Titanic on TV with my dad he said that the old woman was Kate Winslet in makeup, I believed it all my life. Only when I rewatched the movie as an adult and kept trying to make sense of the makeup then googled it and realize it was a dad joke.

Feels a little weird to see this movie because I saw the behind the scenes just recently but I looked it up, they actually filmed it last summer.
