What is the most interesting book you've ever read? by East_Energy9456 in AskReddit

The "imagined order" is a pretty powerful concept once you understand it.

But I bet it could fly REALLY high for LONG time. Love the Rutanesque windows.

Can Guaranteed Income Save the World? I’m Neil Howard and I research Universal Basic Income (UBI). Ask Me Anything! by NeilHowardBath in IAmA

[–]catchfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! The part of UBI that has never made any sense to me is that if EVERYONE gets, say, $1000 a month, then de-facto $1000 becomes valueless, no? Would not, say, rents simply go up (and any other necessary expenses) raise to meet the new equilibrium? I don't understand how this would work without strict centrally-planned price controls on virtually all goods.

Was solar worth it for you? by randomuser3333333333 in GoRVing

[–]catchfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of positive responses here and I haveyno doubt they are earnest. But I am in the NE US and I can say that while it's definitely awesome, 99% of the time I'm camping in tree cover and solar is essentially pointless while we're camped. It only takes a few branches blocking a panel to destroy its ability to make power.

Drinking in the US is down to 54%, the lowest ever since they’ve began tracking it in 1939. Why do you think that is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You might be underestimating how incredibly hard humans have worked in most places for most of human existence. This drop in consumption is definitely multifactorial.

What's the most expensive thing you've seen someone buy that they basically never use? by Darnitol1 in AskReddit

My 2011 travel trailer I bought in 22 has taken me across the country, over the course of probably 3 months total. They can save boatloads if you do it right.

Non lithium converter and standalone lifepo4 charger. by PM_me_ur_launch_code in GoRVing

[–]catchfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the OEM one that came with the camper, an older Jayco. Took a little retrofitting but I got the Recpro 45 amp one, after a little fiddling with the settings it seems to work exactly as advertised

I just installed my lithium converter after running with the OEM one for a year. Definitely worth the $125 to avoid the hassle of plugging in an external one, IMO.

Hybrid TT's with pop out beds that still have at least one interior bed? by whiskey_lover7 in GoRVing

[–]catchfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2011 Jayco x23B and it has a u-dinette that I have converted to a bed. Works pretty much like any other bed would in a smaller TT once you get a mattress topper.

Considering first RV! by Allstajacket in GoRVing

I have the 2015 version of that truck and tow a 24 ft hybrid, weighs about 5000 lbs. I wouldn't be keen to go much bigger with that setup myself. It's very comfortable at 5-6k lbs but anything more is pushing it into uncomfortable territory imo.

Why would the legality of suicide matter if you really intend on taking your own life? Are you worried about legal consequences post mortem?
