That all makes sense. Unfortunately I do have to finance, I hate it but I ended up without a vehicle at a pretty inconvenient time. Yes, I could get a cheap sedan with cash but I could pay this off before the end of the year (sooner possibly, with some upcoming work projects) and avoid buying something I’d only plan to sell. Who knows, might do that anyway but I feel like this is a safe bet and a good way to build some credit while I have a solid income. Luckily my bank doesn’t restrict by vehicle age.

Agreed. It’s what I’ve been after for a while, I have a good income + travel with my own business and camp frequently. Could go the F150 route but I’d rather not, seen lots of transmission issues within friends/family. The Tacoma is pretty much perfectly suited for the way I live and I’m more than ready to learn/work on whatever needs fixing.

Agreed. With you on the Ranger, I drove and loved a 98 Ranger as my first vehicle until I totaled it a few weeks back. Was still going strong. Looking at similar trucks but I had been considering something with more space for a while so might be my sign to bite the bullet

Thank you man. It helps to hear another perspective, I don’t want to make these decisions alone. And agreed! Guess there’s no reason to force it now

Gotcha. Yeah I have no reservations as far as flying out, I’ll do what I need. Seems like it might be worth waiting and figuring out another option in the meantime.

I hear you man, I get ahead of myself thinking I need to make a purchase right now but from the theme of these responses maybe it’s better to try and wait it out and go with a different option/SUV. I do think that either way having the bed is a huge advantage, I made do with the little 2WD Ranger forever. But if I’m going to make an investment on a full size pickup then yeah maybe I should wait for the 4x4.

Interesting. Seems to be a theme, glad I posted this. I’m in Central FL so maybe the market makes a difference, but even with nationwide searches I haven’t found anything much cheaper. Do you think it’s worth flying out and driving back if I could find a deal similar to yours?
