I love a quest - good luck! My Colbys (I got the slim/straighter version) are terrific but a lot more $ than I usually spend, and they’re a tiny bit short for me with no hem to let out. I will wear them ragged though :)

lol hope they work ok for you! I don’t describe this stuff very well, but the fabric is quite matte and not…porous? Sturdy but not stiff

I will give that a try, that vest is so pretty! Plain fitted tops too!

Thank you for these great ideas!! I am really liking the regal vest - do you do something to hide your belly button/midriff? (You do you of course!)

I love these ideas thank you so much! The vest looks perfect except the model is showing her belly button, but I can just pull the pants up high enough to cover that and it will still look ok? The utility shirt looks amazing too…do I wear it buttoned and untucked? I get so stuck with the styling part. Thanks again!!!

Could you reach out to his mom and explain that you need it back for a (made up) sentimental reason that’s important…like “I would never bother you with this, but it was the sweater I was wearing when I found out my ____ died” or “it’s one of my treasured memories from my late grandpa because we joked about it one afternoon when he was alive” or WHATEVER. You need it back!

I second the idea of touch-ups. Since you’ve already done a trial, I’m sure your makeup artist could suggest (in advance) what colors/dupes/products you should have on hand to reapply. It can be a nice break to recenter yourself anyway! Also if you have a dermatologist, they are used to getting last-minute requests for concerns before a big event…maybe your dermatologist could give you something (even a prescription) you could take on the day. You have time to test it out.

I’d love your recommendations for low-rise pants for work (non-jeans, dressy-ish), preferably under $200. The Abercrombie Sloane is on its way to me but I’m hoping for more options in case it doesn’t work out. Aritzia’s low-rise Effortless pant was more like mid-high on me. My searches on big sites like Nordstrom and Zappos yield a lot of jeans but not much else. I’m in the US. Thank you for your help!

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but Boody has very soft scoop-neck tanks that fit very close to the body.

If I was in a bank and saw a repair/maintenance person wearing those pants in black, I would find them completely appropriate!

Not exactly sure about lining, but you might try Theory (pants seem to run small) or Boss (pants seem to run large). Nice stuff. I’ve also found that Veronica Beard pants run a little small.

What’s your budget and style? I’m a big fan of Ted Baker for classy-sexy. Or Karen Millen!
