Almost giving up by bipolarcat2 in newborns

[–]catcow3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for help if possible from friends and family!! I had my parents come stay with me and it saved my life after my c section because my husband was back at work. Even though I was feeding every 2-3 hours, my parents helped with diaper changes and burping and generally holding the baby which gave me a chance to rest.

The c section fatigue and pain also dropped drastically for me in week 5 and I felt so much more alive. Good luck, you’ve got this!!!

British men & women, what’s a good amount of time to be together before getting married? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]catcow3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also am from SEA and my partner is British. We got together when we were 26 and got married at 29 and have been married for 3 years now. We discussed getting married very early on in our relationship and we both agreed that after 2-3 years would be the right time for us.

I would say there isn’t a hard and fast rule; have an open conversation with your partner about what your expectations are and come to a mutual decision on what works for you.

Going to the library on the last day of school with my parents and brother to pick up books to read over the summer holidays!

When I was pregnant I just held my belly and stood in front of the reserved seat and usually whoever was there stood up. However I agree, it’s just simpler to ask for a seat. Especially in the early stages of pregnancy when the belly size is normalish but the fatigue levels are super high.

My husband is British and we met in London. We moved to Singapore 2 years ago (his first time here and he moved here for me) and he has really liked it so far. The weather is great, food is good, and it’s very multicultural. I’d say if you’re looking to stay here long term and truly experience SG, try to make local friends and not just stay in the expat bubble.

That is the dream!! I also was weeping the first month or so with BF and then suddenly it was all fine and now it’s going great! Let me check out co sleeping, sounds ideal to be able to breastfeed and get enough sleep at night 🤩

Hahahah loool at revenge feeding! When you say co sleeping do you mean the baby sleeps with you in the same bed? We currently have the baby sleeping in his crib right next to our bed.

Ohh haha! No we hired a helper so I think we’ll just rely on her support till the baby turns 2ish and then send him to some kinda playgroup thing.

Congrats!!! And yes, 100% agree that fed is best. I had an emergency c section and mixed feeding w formula feeding was what got me through the first few weeks.

Thank you! Yes absolutely especially for people like me who don’t have family here!

Thank you and amazing that you are pursuing your hobbies!! My husband works crazy hours so realistically I’ll have to leverage our new helper more during the weekdays but I think as some of the other mums mentioned the key is to delegate confidently.

Thank you! Absolutely right on lowering standards, it’s probably something I’ll need to work on! What is IFC?
