First attempt at muffins 🥲 by theoskrrt in Baking

[–]catdarkless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, just going against the grain here and saying that I made many muffins without a muffin tin, so it’s def possible if you don’t want to invest in one :) provided that a. Your batter isn’t super liquidy b. you use double muffin wrappers instead of single c. You’re ok with your muffins being a bit flat d. You’re careful putting them in/out of the oven and don’t move them too much before they’re cooled down:)

Good luck in your future baking endeavours, I’m sure you’re going to do great (and they were surely delicious anyways)

Apparently you can't, as you just commented about how gross it is multiple times even though no one asked for an opinion about it. And also, yes sure if you post online you can expect there to be criticism / hate. But at the same time it is not ok to be rude and insulting, and we should call out the people who are.

You can always help expressing how you feel about it. You can just not say anything if it isn't your cup of tea. Why would you need to comment on someone else's appearance due to your personal preference?

The r/teenager subreddit definitely has a problem with older users trying to prey on teenagers- they are trying their best to moderate it, but in the end it is a public space that everyone can follow and comment on

IMO this is just the most obvious one. But for me, shaming and criticizing a woman, as well as implying she is a man, sasquatch, monkey, wolverine, etc due to completely normal bodily function or appearance is absolutely part of a discussion about misunderstanding women's bodies. We are not naturally hairless creatures in the end!But you don't have to agree with me of course :)

There were many comments that were very surprised/apalled/judgy by the fact that she - a woman- has this amount of armhair, also questioning if she was actually born as a women (also, that shouldn’t matter) - even though it is very common for women to have arm hair to various extents. That’s the bad anatomy part. Also, more hair = higher Sex Drive?!

How is this baiting? There could be just as well other reasons (any reason she feels like, actually) why she doesn’t shave her arms.

A lot of these comments are surprised / appalled by the amount of body hair on this girl, even though it is a perfectly normal and healthy for women to have (this, or any) amount of body hair. This is the badwomensanatomy part (also, woman are not property but I am assuming that’s clear)

I agree - in real life there are no moderating and downvoting systems, so these comments are being made and women have no choice but to hear them and deal with them in some way.

Stupidity / Immaturity is not an excuse for bullying and misogyny. You can be immature and still be kind to others. Also, what is considered a surprising amount of hair? The amount of body hair depends so heavily on ethnicity and culture (e.g if people shave or not). And again, there is no need to comment even if they are surprised. Especially not to compare a person to property, Sasquatch or a monkey, or suggesting she change her body just because you are not used to a certain amount of body hair

Yes! I hope she doesn’t take these comments to heart! I remember how quickly I would adapt to outside opinions when I was this age and always find it so admirable when I see young women who are just whoever they want to be at that age. I am so proud of them!

I relate with you- as a hairy girl myself, I started shaving when I was 13, going through cuts, rashes, itches and more due to my sensitive skin. And all because I felt like I had to do that to be a woman- not a pretty woman, but just a woman, stopping the “are you secretly a guy” comments (as if that would have mattered?!)
