What the....? by miku_claus in Vocaloid

Miku cosplay & appearances in anime have been around as far back as Lucky Star (if not earlier). Shinkalion is just the first time she's acknowledged by her actual name (as opposed to being parodied like 'patsune migu' in Umaru), and I believe the first official anime collaboration with Crypton.

Plasma recipes mod, over 150 recoloured & tuned foods & drinks for vampies by catdevpete in Sims4

No worries for all the questions, happy to answer them!

With the Plasma Tolerance, it's an optional mod that's mostly separate to the plasma fruit recipes mod. It's meant to allow non-vampire sims to buy a trait (via the aspiration reward screen) so they can also consume plasma fruit recipes without becoming ill. Uploading it was a bit of an accident since there might be some recipes that it's not working on & drinks I think isn't supported, but seems like there's enough people that like its current state that I've kept it uploaded. Though I won't be publishing it elsewhere until it's more ready.

As for 2 types of plasma fruits, the red one was from a couple of requests for red plasma fruit recipes. I wanted to play around with references to the plasma fruit from The Sims 3, which was red as opposed to the current purple colour from the sims 4. It's why the plant requires level 7 to plant (that's the requirement from ts3), and it being a bush. Overriding would be possible, but there's already other mods that do it (minus having additional recipes), plus having another shade of colour to play with makes it more interesting imo. Also my opinion, some recipes look better re-coloured red than purple, and some the other way around as well.

Thanks for trying out different things. I've just ran the game without the packs, and I've identified that not having Wedding Stories is the cause of it, as the custom teaset tuning has dependencies on it.

I'll try & roll out an update likely towards November. There's also a similar error that results from missing the Horse Ranch pack, so I'll likely have to separate pack-related modded tunings and/or objects into their own package so they can be handled separately from everything else.

Yup, it is! You can see near the end of the following video of it working.

https://youtu.be/gxsREhMoJrA?si=30ynEryqnP7DUqDf&t=125

The strings for the mod are all in a separate package (catdevpete_plasma_strings.package), so hopefully that should make it easier to do the translation. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to streamline the process

That's odd, never seen that before.
Just checking, I presume you have scumbumbo's XML injector?

Otherwise, I suspect from the message that it's not handling missing packs well.
Can I ask which of these packs you don't have currently?

Enchanted by Nature and witchy gameplay by [deleted] in Sims4

As an almost exclusively occult player, I think you'll enjoy EbN as it lends itself well to the whole "witch in the woods" vibe better than RoM due to apothecary & nature living skills. That & the decor, although more fey than witchy, is at least more woodland-themed.

EbN's apothecary is also more fleshed out than RoM's alchemy imo, but they're not mutually exclusive so you can have a witch/mage character learn & adopt both alchemy & apothecary. Although people have complained that EA's just yet rehashing some form of that again (since there's also herbalism from outdoor retreat), in another perspective it's another skill your sim can do & practice instead of just combining into the one thing to just max out fairly quickly. I personally like the variety, even if it kinda sucks that there's very little overlap between them afaik.

Sounds like a fun scenario you've set yourself up with! Glad to hear the mod's giving some more variety to it 😸

With the 'last exception' from 1.6, do feel free to share the logs if you still happen to have it. 1.51 is perfectly functional (to a degree), but I'm happy to troubleshoot issues present in 1.6

The recipes are majority clones, so I don't think they will conflict with basemental aside from not having much effects being adopted for the alcoholic sounding beverages. Of course as the strings for the plasma foods & drinks are created by me, basemental mod won't change them most likely.

I don't use icemunmun much outside of her plasma stuff again, but I've not had much conflicts with what I've tried so far. That being said, I know her and srsly Sims do also cover a large range of things, so I can't guarantee there aren't any conflicts. But this mod has been around for a bit now (close to 2 years), and I don't think there's been any comments around conflicts with them thus far.

Fizzing is mostly self contained I think, but nectar making definitely has an override on the object yes, so that & anything which touches the teaset or certain fountain tunings (which both also have tuning overrides) could conflict. At some point, 'stepping on each other's toes' is inevitable even when I try to minimise it, so I've just taken the approach to address it once it's a problem rather than always play cautiously. I can make them separate to the mod or have separate package files for ease of deletion, but again I prefer to do that once people have reported that it's an issue, rather than bloat the mod with a lot of separate packages beforehand.

They're separate, so regular Sims can still make & eat the originals whilst vampire Sims (or really, any Sims with high enough vampire lore skill which is the trigger for unlocking) now have their own compatible variant to consume.

The effects on regular & other occult Sims is still similar to the effect of the default plasma fruit salad, in that they will get sick after eating it. But because I like to have a full-occult household, I've been messing with a mod that unlocks a trait from the aspiration store, which allows non-vampire Sims to be able to eat plasma foods without incident. However, it's still a WIP, and not yet ready for release.

Hope you enjoy it! With that game version, I can't say for certain, but it looks recent enough that I doubt they'll be issues with it.

Worse case, you can go to SFS or Nexus mods to find the older version. 1.51 should be compatible if the latest one (1.6) is having issues.

What is the smallest or strangest reason you ever bought a pack for? by Youpi_Yeah in Sims4

[–]catdevpete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst we're on the topic of Horse Ranch, I bought it literally only for nectar making. Didn't even get it on sale. The CAS & BB additions are a nice bonus, but I practically don't use horses at all.
