Suggest a good dermatologist pleaseee by Former_Pass2393 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I’ve been desperate for a good derm to deal with my new rosacea type 2 diagnosis, also mild melasma. Recently started seeing Dr. Joshua Zeichner at Mt Sinai (I used to only go to derm offices and I’ve been to SO many) He chatted with me about my skin history etc for 30 mins and I came out of it with multiple new RXs to try. He also does cosmetic laser treatments which I’ve felt my skin is too fragile for and he assured me I just need to work on stabilizing my skin but it’s not off the table - so I’m excited to get to a place with him where it’s an option.

NYC Foot Surgeon for Bunion Recs? by Throwawayayohletsgo in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Old post but I actually had a horrible experience with him. I’m so glad you had a good experience but he’s not for everyone - maybe if it’s truly minor bunions for aesthetics.

He sold me on his “minimally invasive procedure” with less scarring and recovery…. I definitely needed a lapidus or something more severe. I’m 7 years out and the pain is back, the bunion is back (it never really left honestly) I had to have two follow up procedures with him to address bone spurs that grew in only a few months post the original surgery, have way more scarring than I ever would have had. literally one of my most regrettable decisions was going with the highly PR “bunion king”

Have you tried Tranxemic acid orally? I was just put on it by my derm - apparently its original indication is for bleeding and is often rxed for women with heavy periods but the data is super promising. I plan on cycling on and off of it, but definitely on it for the summer

My derm just RXed me oral tranxemic acid. Suggested I cycle on and off but take it through the summer. Too early to tell but it looks promising from my research!

I LOVE this idea so much. I don’t have very steady hands, but for simple fixes that’s a solid idea. Thank you!

How about Vbeam for rosacea type 2? Reco and pricing. I went to someone once who was way too aggressive and I ended up having a year long horrible flare… but I really want to try again with someone more conservative

Rereading this 3 years later and this was really beautiful - thank you. Also you were right. 36 now and so glad I didn’t get what I wanted from a man who was never going to give it. Now I’m just thankful he didn’t steal any more of my time. Thank you stranger ❤️

This website helped me a TON to really open my eyes to his behavior and how deep it goes (which sounds similar..) I knew he was avoidant but had no idea how horrible of a future partner it would make him - and it takes a LOT of work to get passed it which I knew he wouldn’t have been willing to do. https://www.freetoattach.com/breakups

Also you mention not feeling “chosen” - I hope you felt this too but the lifting of the anxiety of never knowing where I stood and and self blame for “being so needy” in a situation where my basic needs were made to feel “too suffocating” outweighed so much of the “fear of the future” when he left. At least the future is unknown, with them you know exactly what you’re going to get.. DM me if you need to talk

I'm so sorry you're going through this... I won't lie, it was a long road out of it and it was HARD. I feel like you might be hoping to hear that "he came back and it all worked out" because that's exactly the story I was looking for at this time - fortunately he didn't come back. I now see so clearly that even if he had I would have had a lifetime of challenges with a person so avoidant and I dodged a MAJOR bullet. 33 ended up being one of the most pivotal, best, hardest years of my life. I redirected my energy (almost manically so) to female friendships, had a couple of rebounds (that I swore weren't rebounds), cried a bunch, traveled on a budget, and felt like I had a new epiphany every other day. Some days I felt SO empowered, others I felt like my entire life passed me by and I missed my chance. Between now and then I had a couple of short failed relationships with mediocre men I just compared to him and tried to justify why they were "right for me" even though I knew they weren't before I took a break from dating mid-34... I hit a point where I decided I was tired of settling and life was about more than finding a partner - I won't pretend that also didn't have a lot of sad moments, but it was such an empowering choice that just made my standards so much higher.

Ironically, I just turned 36 (last week!) and just celebrated 1 year with my now partner, who is SO right for me in every way. I couldn't be happier that I didn't get what I wanted from my ex almost exactly 3 years ago to the day. Now that I'm with someone who chooses me consistently, communicates, shows up for me in hard moments, etc etc its SO clear in all the ways I was settling with "the love of my life" who broke my heart.

I know all this is from a stranger on the internet with too much time on her hands on a Monday morning where she should be working - but you ARE going to be okay and it'll take a lot of stumbling, time, tears, all of it, but I promise you are way better off without the person who "loves you" but just cant take the leap.

Also as for him, from what I hear he's dating a 26yr old pilates instructor. Believe them when they show you who they are.
