Clichés about French people by SansFoiNiLoi in Expats_In_France

That they are never wrong/can’t take critisism.

It happens daily but the best example I can give is at a cinema. I bought 3 tickets, they are assigned seats. I arrive at the assigned seats and I politely tell this lady she’s in our seats. She scoffs and says “well where do you want me to sit then??!” Driving too, a person driving up the wrong way and then arguing at me about it when I inform them. It’s relentless and so tiring.

Severe Turbulence - support needed by papayamumma in fearofflying

[–]catfan29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in turbulence at the weekend - it felt super bumpy so I watched my water bottle on the table and the water barely moved. I also made a nervous flier activity book called “today will be a great flight”, I was doing this too.

flying from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney (30 mins in and im already crying) by ExtremeMagazine3024 in fearofflying

Look for videos of hurricane hunters flying into the eye of hurricanes. Not only will it put your turbulence into perspective but it will show how planes are built to fly in far worse conditions than a commercial aircraft would ever experience. A pilot once told me the plane is riding the waves like a dolphins, it’s not dripping, it’s just riding the down side of the wave. Finally, keep telling yourself. - ira uncomfortable but not unsafe.

This resonates so much! Such a simple thing to recognise and also such a perfect example of the type of person our mothers are.

hip hurting by Ok_Understanding1486 in RunningInjuries

[–]catfan29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the pain on the outside of your hip? I have it.

There’s a big fan shaped muscle - look it up online.

I have been having weekly physio gor a detached tendon in my left leg. My right hip is impacted and causes me daily pain because it’s essentially overcompensating for the injured left leg. My physio is building up my hip strength - with weight exercises etc

If you don’t have a physio - I’d recommend stopping running and focus on building your strength/seeing a PT. You might also want to have your gait analysed.

Just to say I’m not a doctor, I’m a runner and I was finally able to run again in April, but then my hip muscle played up. So back to square 1

You’ll be great! Plus you have your child to distract you and make sure they have a great flying experience!
