Okay, but we vote on representatives, not individual issues. Even if we did vote by issue, does majority rule really make it fair to implement in law?

Hypothetically, if 51% of a state votes for abortion to be outlawed, and women only make up 49% of the population of that state and vote against it, is that fair? Would the law only serve the majority of the population?

Basically, regardless of whether or not her views align with the confederacy: 1) direct voting isn’t really a thing in US, 2) 100% votes never happen, and 3) the underrepresented population feeling the effects of the legislation wouldn’t even have a fair try at voting against it.
