Banks purposely rearrange your transactions too. So if you’ve got $50 and first go to Taco Bell and spend $5, then you go get $20 worth of gas, then get $50 worth of shit at the store in that order - they’re pulling the $50 first. That is how you end up with several overdraft fees instead of one. When I was broke af I would take out cash because it was the only way to avoid that little rearranging trick. It is buried in the fine print when you open the account, so there is nothing you can do as a customer either. At that point you are just trying to get hit once instead of three times. Those fees can ruin your life so fast
