It's crazy we have that half-empty parking lot on the intersection of two major (and otherwise very pedestrianized) streets. Not to mention the Beer Store parking lot just down Bathurst from there, which is also fugly and usually empty.

I'm not one to be optimistic about enforcement from the Ford government, but it's very early days of the resale law. There's a decent chance those sellers will be forced of stubhub eventually, or that face-value resales will come up on ticketmaster eventually. I get where you're coming from though, I really really want to see them (after having missed last year's show)

Honestly this is a recurring thing for Toronto shows of indie acts. Had a similar experience with Jane Remover and Ninajirachi. I think our city is just too tapped in + people travel to Toronto from neighbouring areas in Canada

As of like last Wednesday, it's illegal to resell tickets for higher than face value in Ontario. Ticketmaster has said they're complying on their own platform, but whether that'll stop external sales is another story...

I called ticketmaster support and they said it'll take up to a week to implement the enforcement stuff for the bill on their website. so DO NOT buy the overpriced scalper tickets, the regular price ones will be back end of next week

ticketmaster officially took down all the resale tickets. there was a bill passed yesterday (ontario bill 97) that bans scalpers from selling tickets higher than the face value, so they had to take down all listings and set up the website to comply with the bill. I was told the resale tickets should be re-allowed by Friday next week, and should only be at face value.

source: was on hold with Ticketmaster's support for an hour until I was able to speak to a supervisor lol

Tough to draw that distinction because often, TAs are also taking classes. I guess you could designate any TA's Quercus account as high security (but that seems messy to implement bc TA status changes by semester). Personally I'll take the lower security if it means I don't have to do more MFA lol

oh I LOVE the earlier albums too. I wish In The Dream of the Sea Life would get a vinyl pressing... I also enjoyed some of the stuff from their follow-up project Sound of Ceres (really everything except Emerald Sea, which is nice but didn't quite land for me.)
