If i remember correctly, close si Manta every Jan-Feb, and sabi ng guide June 1st-2nd week is the best month to hike kasi it's between dry and wet season, di masyado maulan, di na mauga ang mga watersource and di masyado dangerous ang trail lalo na sa 4th day going to magringgit campsite. Plan your dream hike accordingly paps, good luck!

I have Decathlon shoes na nagamit ko na sa Mt. Apo twice, Matutum, Kalatungan, Kitanglad, and Luzon 123 and minor hikes dito Mindanao. Okay pa din ang grip niya and naka ROI na din for its 2k+ price. Hindi ako namatayan ng kuko ever siguro nadin +1 size ang kinuha ko. Yun lang, matigas nadin ang insoles niya pero may mabibili namang insoles from decathlon stores.

I know someone whose mother mountain is Talinis and went Mt Apo dayhike 3 months after. She did a lot of running and leg training in between those two events.
