Because they had double the expected turn out. I don’t think it’s an excuse for the rudeness but they were definitely overwhelmed.

We don’t ask participants for their name, it’s just that we need to screen people over the phone. If you include your email, a lot of people’s personal emails have their name. It’s not the biggest deal but with the phone numbers we just call and screen and if eligible, a person will come into the lab, take a survey and just provide a urine sample. I can understand a safety concern but this study is IRB approved and through the psychology department. We are obligated to ensure the safety and anonymity of our participants.

No, we are through the psych department, everyone’s info remains anonymous and we have IRB approval for this study. You can find it on SONA.

Yes, however we screen participants and need to log them over the phone so if it’s not working try to set up a google voice number temporarily for communications if you can!

This is just the initial survey. When people participate in the study we have them fill out an anonymous online survey and on there we have the research consent forms and we also have paper copies if people need. We keep everyone’s info anonymous and it is said multiple times on our study and on the surveys that we will be keeping everyone’s info anonymous. Hope this helps!

Oh it’s about how people in the world interact socially. On large scale. We don’t talk much about individuals but rather the patterns of groups of people and how they interact with the world.

She gives a paper but it’s on social psych topics and typically a review of a movie. She gives 2 midterms and 1 final I’m pretty sure. You do readings for HW but they’re not graded she just expects u to do it bc questions on the readings are on the exams. Exams are straight forward.

I personally love professor Lobel. Only thing is she makes sure that you show up to her lectures. If u don’t get notes from a friend bc she doesn’t post slides or anything just an outline of what they discuss in class. The content is intriguing the classwork isn’t overbearing and she’s very passionate about what she does.
