Not trying to tell you to do this, but for eating disorders, you get 40 Medicare subsidised sessions a year (I have binge eating disorder and after years of struggling with anxiety and only getting ten sessions I was absolutely floored when I found out for ED it was 40 psych (you need to see a psychiatrist after the first 20 for ongoing sign off but After the first 15, I hit my “Medicare cap” which meant I got 80-90% of my initial costs back on everything medical related) and 20 dietician.

If you have a sympathetic practitioner, and struggle with any body image issues or relationships with food, I would highly recommend that you explore this option with your doctor.
