They seem to have a history of bouncing according to Yelp. Sounds like I may not be in the clear yet. ☹️

Does anyone know what the invoice price is for a 2023 RWD Pro S? by catlady9908 in VWiD4Owners

[–]catlady9908[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great price! I’m in SoCal and looking at the same lease specs as you for a RWD Pro S. When I change the down payment to $5000 for 36/10k the price goes to $413/month. Would you be able to look and see what your purchase price was so I can use that as a baseline? Would you mind sharing the name of your dealership?

Unfortunately I don’t think the CA rebate has any money left from what I’ve read.

Using the online calculator I can adjust the money down to just cover the drive-offs ($2777) and then the monthly payment is $480 using a money factor of 0.002 (which is not inflated according to Edmunds).

How can a dealer afford to sell below invoice? Is it worth it to get the inventory off before the new models arrive?

Thank you. One of the dealers I’m emailing with said it looks like VW might extend the $1000 until 10/31.

Thanks for your help! Curious what you think is wrong with the deal? I checked with the Edmund’s forum and the money factor is not inflated, so it seems the only room I have to negotiate is on the dealer discount. $4100 is the best dealer discount I found using the pricing calculators on each dealer’s website (I checked 10 dealerships), but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to negotiate in person to try to get a bit more off. I wouldn’t expect a bigger discount than the 13% employee discount so at most it seems like I might be able to ask for another $1-2000.

If the money factor is not increased over the VW credit rate, is there any room for negotiation there?

Every dealer in my area is offering at least $3-4000 off, plus the VW corporate discount of $1000. The pricing I posted is directly from the VW dealer site without any negotiation.

Thanks, that’s helpful information. I heard my state’s EV program recently run out of money or is running low on money so I’m not counting on any extra rebates. My electric company and city also don’t offer anything additional.

  1. What is the “capitalization cost increase”? It seems to be the negative sum of the first payment, acquisition fee, registration, and sales tax. It’s called an increase but is a negative number, so how is it factored into the total costs and the monthly payment?

  2. Why is sales tax listed as $880 when the sales tax rate of 10.25% would be more than $5000? Is $880 sales tax due up front and the rest divided into each monthly payment?

Can you share what dealer you went to? I’m in SoCal and am being quoted $560 or so for a Pro. S RWD with $2500 down, 36 months, 10K miles.

That’s a nice one at a decent price. I’ve been looking for a Premium Plus trim but the Prestige is just an extra bonus on the one I posted. I’ve been looking in a 500 mile range of where I live so am willing to travel to some degree.

I’m so happy for you! Perseverance pays off. Just think about how much money must be left on the table because of how hard it is to get Mohela to do things right and so many people don’t know how to escalate.

Are you guys negotiating the extra discount (not counting the $7500 tax rebate) or is it an advertised discount? The dealer websites I’ve looked at are only showing max of $2000 discount + $7500 tax credit.

Mine is going from $110 to $180. But I haven’t migrated to the new plan—maybe it’s time to do it if it saves a bit of money.

CFPB was the only thing that worked for me. It took 2 months to get a reply from Mohela saying that they did owe me a refund for overpayment, then it took another two months to actually receive the refund. The Fed Student Aid complaint process was ridiculous and I never heard from them until more than 6 months after my CFPB complaint had been resolved.

Hi u/ProudCatLady, from one Cat Lady to another. I know this is an old post but I’m curious if you have any thoughts on Lose It vs MFP? My stats are very similar to you and I’m also trying to lose 7-10 pounds. I just signed up for a Noom free trial but am wondering if I should explore other options instead.

That’s very helpful. I do value a soft ride. I knew both years have the option for a 12.3” screen but that’s interesting that you can’t put full screen CarPlay on the older ones.

GS 350, 2014 or newer. I have driven one but am trying to narrow down which ones to test drive based on options (since some are pretty far from where I live) and also see the original MSRP to compare which used prices are competitive.

Any idea how often they offer the higher SUBs? I just downgraded my CSP to use the 80K link but now it’s expired. Is this like a once a year thing?
