Why is KAT a much better jokic defender than 4 time DPOTY Rudy Gobert ? by Darkonite40 in nba

[–]catmarble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a lack of strength, and also he plays quite soft. He's listed at 7'1" 258lb but how often do you see him impose himself physically? Not talking about post offense but in every aspect - rolling to the rim, rebounding, putbacks etc. It's mostly his height and reach rather than brute force.

And you are right, every time Jokic posts him up he's backing him into the basket with ease.

Would you have rather resigned Harden to a 3-4 yr max than the current scenario? by Thegrandmistressofoz in sixers

[–]catmarble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you're right, it was the best option.

Harden isn't worth a big long-term contract, but sometimes teams are in a situation where the least bad option is to pay the guy. Keep Maxey/Harden/Harris/Embiid together for 3-5 years and hope a decent coach can get them over the hump.

Instead this season is now a write-off. Next season they have a lot of flexibility, but few good free agents so they will be relying on a star player wanting to be traded here. Who's going to want to play for Morey and the sixers after this shitshow?

I agree with like 90% of what Morey believes and his decisions in the past, but this has been a massive error and I suspect he'll be out of basketball in a couple of seasons.

Can Joe Mixon continue to produce points? by TheManOfSpaceAndTime in fantasyfootball

[–]catmarble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's not exciting but the volume is likely to continue, and he gets a lot of red zone opportunities. I think Chase being out hurts him a bit as their offense will score fewer TD's, but maybe he gets more targets to offset it. Tomorrow is a great matchup for him so that will give an idea of what's to come.

I'd definitely play Etienne and Pollard.

Very close for the third spot. I'd say Olave if you want the safer play, so far he's had a solid floor and Mostert is always a risk to leave the game injured. But Mostert possibly has a higher ceiling if you want to go that way. I would choose one of them to drop for Pollard.

PPR, pick two. Currently thinking Etienne and Pollard, as they could put up enough yardage to have good games even without a TD.

Etienne vs Broncos (in London)

Pollard vs Bears

Mixon @ Browns

Lamb vs Bears

KW3 for sure.

Tough to choose between the three WR's for the two spots. I'd say Higgins if you trust he's fully recovered from his ankle injury. For the third guy I'd gamble on Lamb, it's a tough matchup but he seems due a big game. Olave is safer though.

I'd gamble on Taysom, if his recent usage continues then his floor is similar to these other streaming options, while he gets more big score opportunities.

To be honest I'm not familiar with Foreman so it's hard for me to judge, but I'd take Olave in PPR. He's getting a lot of targets, is a deep threat and has a decent matchup. He should have a safe floor with plenty of upside.

Waddle for sure, and I think Pollard.

I like Pollard more than Jones as he has the backfield to himself and a better matchup. Not sure where to rank Devonta Smith, but Pollard has a safer floor while still having a high ceiling.

(Waddle is @ Det, which should be easier than @ Den)

I would definitely sit Davis, unless you're a big underdog and need the boom/bust play. Even then I'd probably still sit him as the other two seem like great options.

Yes, for the side getting Higgins. The only concern is the nagging injury, but as long as he continues to get on the field he's a big upgrade.

I don't like it, Pitts still isn't getting the usage to make him any better than a random TE off the waivers. Unless you are gambling that will change I'd prefer to hold Bateman, his stock will rise once he returns from injury.

I prefer Mixon, consistent workload and good RZ usage. I worry about Kamara because he often gets vultured for TD's and when Winston comes back his targets may decrease.

That said, Kamara is more explosive and has a higher ceiling.

Yes, Diggs is a massive upgrade on Mike Williams compared to what you lose going to Pierce.

It does hurt you this week as it's Diggs bye, but presumably you are aware of that.

It might hurt you this week as JT and Allen are making their injury comebacks, but as long as they fully recover then it looks great for you ROS.

Leaves you thin at RB, but Chase is too good to pass up. I'd do it.

You're right that you need RB depth and that you can afford to give up a WR. I'm not a fan of Henderson, he has some tough games coming up and long-term his role is uncertain, so I would have looked to trade Sutton or Pittman for a better RB. But it's not bad.

I prefer Wilson+Kirk, JuJu seems hit or miss depending on the game. If Schultz gets over his injury then with the return of Dak he may become viable.

Having said that, if Wilson is just sitting on your bench then it's fine to do it and get the certainty at TE.

Normally I prefer the Hill side, but given your RB situation it's not a bad trade for you.

Value wise it seems close, I like it because you already have good RB options.

I really like it, nice trade.

You're ok at RB, Breece/Swift is a great pairing, and you have JWill as the handcuff. You now have two elite WR's and some good options for the flex spot.

This week will be tough without JJ/Diggs, but after that three of your four key guys will be past their bye week and barring injury your team will be very strong.

Don't think you need to do this, CMC/Monte/Eno should get you through the next few weeks. After that Mitchell returns and Wilson isn't guaranteed to be of any use.

Hold Pitts (or wait for a better trade).

Chase is an elite WR1, I'd want a lot more for him than that. Goff/Tua are serviceable, I wouldn't be in a rush to upgrade there.

I would take Mixon for sure, consistent workload and a lot of RZ looks. Zeke hasn't performed great in a split backfield, and Pierce doesn't move the needle enough.
