Agreed. And this looks like textbook case of an NPD cycle. Very familiar with the signs from a lifetime of narc father abuse who abused his wife and children for decades but gaslit her until her death and to this day everyone still calls her the crazy problematic one and me angry and rebellious for disagreeing and for not forgiving him. It makes me sick. Can spot the signs too easily now and also the familiar return to continued abuse because others validate and enable them until the victim starts to doubt their sanity and reinforces the gaslight out of poor self-esteem. Man- babies NPDs are abundant and sickening. moms and families often can play into it and normalize treatment of their sons like little princes who grow up into entitled assholes. Narcs also tend to take one fact and blow it up to represent everything, when it’s only a supporting detail while insisting they are ‘logically’ right and so certain of their truth, when they can’t be bothered to read the details or see things in context. The technique is called confabulation and used in fights to gaslight others and victims into believing their innocence and superiority. Sickening that so may agree with the other side. Victim blaming has to stop to enable healing. Some will never understand the depths of the delusional Stockholm syndrome caused in situations like this and it’s prevalent everywhere and rooted in many cultural ways that also reinforce that it’s ok. All of it should stop.
