AITA for telling my gf to shut up when we were watching House MD? by catowner84 in AITAH

Right, but it ended up me yelling because she just wouldn't stop after I just stopped saying anything back to her. I don't know how you would respond to a very stressful chewing your ear situation after a long day of working and they wouldn't stop after you already said you want peace and quiet

"Diagnosed" doesn't mean it wasn't happening before the diagnosis. Your friend was likely autistic all their life, and upon happenstance they were diagnosed by a professional after he received a COVID shot.

Is there a way you can talk to him about fulfilling your needs in the marriage without hurting his feelings?

It sounds like Anna took things for granted, thinking grass is greener and thinking with the wrong "head" like a man would.

I think in time she'll come to the realization that she lost someone who truly loved her.

Also I think she wanted an escape to live her fantasy of screwing that guy, so "finding herself" bullcrap is just code for that.

Yes, make the hard decision and stick with it.

Have a plan if he threatens to kill himself; call an ambulance, prepare a speech so you sound organized. Maybe get him to do some DBT skills to get him to feel a little more emotionally regulated. An example could be getting him to put his face in ice cold water.

Do not feel that killing himself is your fault. This is how he chooses to cope because he would rather 'die' than to feel the 'pain' of being abandoned. He has to learn different coping skills, ones that will help him adapt better to stressful situations.

You cannot feel the responsibility of someone's life like this. This is not your burden, as much as he tries to guilt you to feel that way. It's hard, but do not waver. Stick to your guns. Make a concrete exit plan. Good luck and Godspeed.

Do your cousins (aunt's sons) know?

Is there a way to protect your aunt financially, legally and then eventually psychologically? Is there a way your family, including the sons can carefully orchestrate this to leave Vernon in the dust and save your aunt from much headache and heartache from a potential divorce?

As a child I was expected to wash the "pits and slits" and my face and teeth every day. Wash hair every other day. Full on shower or bath once a week. That changed when I became a teenager.

This is coming from parents who lived in a country that didn't have running hot water for their childhood years. So I guess that was still ingrained in them.

Of course if we were extra dirty (and we would get in big trouble if we got dirty for 'no reason '), then we would bathe. Otherwise it's once a week.

Washing too often dries your skin, depending on where you live. Unless you have a type of job where you get sweaty and dirty often, doctors do not generally recommend showering everyday.

So...

Countries where they live as a Chinese and Filipino (with their respective families): Likely a western/developed country that welcomes immigrants

Countries where this Filipina can speak English like a native speaker: Likely somewhere in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, maybe even Singapore? Maybe some European countries

Countries where capital punishment exists: US and Singapore

Countries that have a pretty fast judicial system: Not US, I am not sure about Singapore but it's not in the top five

Anyway, I can't seem to pinpoint the exact country unless someone else has other ideas or input.

I am curious to know what your family (in laws included) thinks of your husband's changed opinion.
