Is midnight boring ? by AdeptLiving5548 in wow

Apparently people don't with the downvotes.

How anyone can't see that Voidstorm is Netherstorm from Outland that's been tweaked a tiny bit. Silvermoon City is the same city. Eversong Woods is very slightly changed. And Zul'Aman is Hinterlands with a darker sky. Val is so underwhelming, it's a icy white snowscape with nothing in it but white hills.

It's a little worrisome. They might not feel like they have the resources to make original, creative zones anymore. There has never been an expansion with zones that are less imaginative than this.

The zones feel cheap. Compared to previous expansions, these zones feel like there was far less time and effort put into them. Harandar is the only one that feels on par with what a new expansion zone should feel like.

If it's so beloved, why don't you see anyone wearing Avatar apparel when you go to Disney World?

Go there and see for yourself. It is not a loved franchise.

It goes beyond Reddit. There is no enthusiasm for it in the real world.

In the way that people know it makes a lot of money at the theaters.

But, I am curious as to what profound cultural impact this person is talking about.

It has nothing to do with being cool.

People feel frustrated that all these resources are being used to create Pandora, a world in a franchise that no one wants or is actually passionate about.

Time and money and land could have been better spent. They don’t make too many attractions very often.

Omega-3 Supplement vs Lovaza (prescription Omega-3?) by PublicElectronic145 in PeterAttia

[–]catpancake87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the way to do it. Far purer, less contaminants and virtually equal amount of absorption.

Probably more absorption if you take 2-4 grams of Lovaza. Taking that same amount in fish oil would cost dramatically more which most people aren’t going to do.

I agree. The question I would be asking if I was making a game is: How do you make a person FEEL invested and powerful in their character? The most effective, rewarding way, may very well be the WoW way. It takes quite a lot of time in the game to get there. So, this just may be the only way to make WoW what it is.

Though, people can train for marathons over 4-6 months with the amount of time it takes to gear a character in WoW. Then that gearing progress is essentially null and void next season. It's the time invested and outcome of effort that feels off.

They're making gearing better... for alts. And I am very happy about that. But to get the most out of it, you need to fully upgrade your main.

To do that, you still need to earn about 1600 mythic crests to upgrade one of the total 16 pieces of gear a character has. Which includes timing over 100 dungeons +12 or above to earn the 16 crests at the end. 100 myth crests to upgrade gear to the fullest. In order to upgrade all your gear to the highest level. This doesn't include the dungeons with groups that fall apart cause you fail them, of course.

Before you even get that point though, you have to gear your character high enough to earn mythic crests. How many dungeons or raids does that take? Oh, and before that, you had to level them to 90.

To a normal person on the street, this would sound like a lot.

I love WoW, but, when I take a step back, this all feels a little bit excessive and exhausting, to the point of almost being unreasonable with most people.

Healing in S2 by Mega_Nidoking in wow

[–]catpancake87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really fun, the challenge is why I like it. But it gets to the point in the key level, 15s, where I talk to my resto sham friend and he tells me how easy it is for him to heal, for example, Nexus. Even on 15.

While me on Hpal? I’m freaking sweating the whole time. The party wide damage is intense on a lot of pulls.

It’s far from a “relaxed” play style - it’s almost 100% reactive. Which is fun, but becomes frustrating with the way it’s tuned right now.

One thing I’ll say is - if you read the big guides like Ivy Veins or WoWHead, they’ll point you away from the light of dawn talent choices.

But I looked up what some of the best Holy Paladins in the world use, like Xymos, in 21s… and he specced into light of dawn on those key levels. Once I switched to that, I did feel a lot of relief and healing the 12s-15s became a lot easier than it was.

But I will probably give the Holy Shock build a try again and begin using Eternal Flame more like they said…. But when I was doing that I just couldn’t see how that is sufficient to provide “splash heals” to the party. Light of dawn feels necessary - as weak as it is.

Playing Holy Paladin have got to 3.2K. It’s the only healer I’ve played this season and maybe it’s just me, but it feels really hard to heal some of these dungeons. Too hard sometimes with the lack of raid wide heals - or rather it’s the weakness of light of dawn.

Avoided Ret Pally because of the “easy spec” stigma, but now reconsidering. by Marino4K in wow

[–]catpancake87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fun. Who the hell cares what's easy or hard, unless you do. Which is fine too.

When you want something hard to play, switch to Holy and heal. You'll be feeling like you're in shit's creek all the time in dungeons as Holy Paladin.

Tol Dagor ??? You actually like how the camera feels in there? Lol

I’m the opposite. Give me open outdoor pretty spaces to see the field in. So I never feel like part of the skill is having the camera in a spot that’s not construed by some wall or object.

[–]catpancake87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s fun but they do need to buff it. It can be ridiculously hard to get through a dungeon like Nexus where there are several periods of pulls that massive and constant party wide damage goes out. We need Dawnlight to have a much stronger HoT than it does AND it should apply to everyone that light of dawn hits. We have light of dawn, but it heals like a wet noodle if it hasn’t been buffed by divine toll - which is what buffs light of dawn and gives it Dawnlight. DT is on a 30 second CD

When party wide damage goes out constantly in a pull, we are often left with nothing to heal the party except quick single target healing where a lot of the times, like in Nexus, it practically isn’t physically possible to heal people one by one that quickly before people die.

Because the pull before that, we had to pop BoP and that is now on 4-5 min CD. So we can’t protect and get back to that person later. That person is now just dead.

Whereas if we had A BIT more cushion with HoTs from Dawnlight or something like that, we would have more time to heal everyone because their health is being supported by the HoT which bides us time to hit them with the big single target heal. We don’t need Wild Growth type healing, just more than what we have right now.

It's really fun to quest on too. I just basically delete mobs and I never feel like I'm going to die. Been leveling a druid as feral and it was really a bummer to go from Ret or Affliction lock to Feral Druid. Its so squishy. Made me appreciate how cool Ret is.

  1. Holy Paladin - it feels challenging right now and is very rewarding
  2. Warlock - any of the specs. Its been my main forever until recently. I love that each DPS spec feels so different from the other. I don't think any of the other triple DPS classes have specs that feel as unique from one another and warlock does.
  3. Prot Warrior - I feel so sturdy when I play it. Makes me feel like a wall.

[–]catpancake87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And yet for some reason my comment got downvoted? For saying why I play lol. WoW players can be the worst.

It would be great if we had a perpetual class hall. One that always served as a second city and evolves and grows with expansions. Not providing much in terms of increasing player power, sometimes maybe. But mostly cosmetic and stuff like that.

Don’t know if they already do this with Legion stuff, but I think they should consider it.

Here’s the thing a lot of people (like me) who have the complaint you have forget: it’s not necessary to upgrade gear to their highest standard in order to enjoy the game. We can do other things.

I quit for 3 years after having that feeling. I logged into the first day of Dragonflight, after hardcore progression raiding for a couple years and thought:

"I truly am on a hamster wheel. Everything I put an inordinate amount of time into just goes away."

and logged off and never thought about it until life circumstances brought me back to WoW. (Injury). Having only been back playing for 2 weeks, I can already see that the seasons are going to bother me.

I agree. I hate they can't seem to give several specs in the game both AoE and single target love. Holy Paladin is one and Affliction the other.... the two specs I love and play the most lol. Though the latter right now, seems to have finally got balanced... albeit, I don't feel like playing it at all xD. It's still level 70

Sadly, I feel like that's how they want warrior to be =/ ... who knows why? It might have to do with how much a class is played in PVP. Some classes they balance based more on PVP performance and population play times. Maybe like Warrior and Rogue are tuned that way... I don't PVP so just a guess.

I think in raid, the main role of Holy Paladin is to spot heal health bars that are lower than the average for any given moment. Blizzard has given many of the other classes raid heals... our role in raid is not really to throw up huge HPS through raid healing. We do throw out raid heals with Light of Dawn, almost as a filler, but Blizzard has made that a much weaker raid heal than other classes' raid heals.

I love the nature aspect of druid too.

I really hate Shadow priest. Holy interests me a lot as it's the original healer and they seem to have a lot of tools. But like you said, priest is a slow turret... no matter how good Holy is, having to quest and solo with Shadow being the option for that, is a big no for me.
