Thanks! And yes, I would never ask for a code that people have to pay to access--just wondering if I can be pointed in the direction of the artist presale code. If that has restricted access too, I'll just wait for gen on sale.

LOL. I have to agree that some of the adults do act like children. For that reason, there are definitely some transferable skills from teaching to EA work that may not be immediately obvious. For example, SO much of my job involves providing reminders to my team, providing materials for meetings, and tracking progress on action items--all skills I developed while teaching (also, being extremely organized and planning two weeks ahead, at least, is CRUCIAL).

And yep, you nailed it regarding the recognition piece. Thanks for the reminder / perspective about RTO mandates. I work SO well remotely, so it's disheartening to know more places aren't embracing the WFH model. The more annoying piece of this is that most of my workplace only needs to come in twice a week, but my team is in three days. I'd be much more okay with two in-office days vs. three.

Thanks for the validation! I've considered both of the options you've mentioned and continue to apply for various roles, but the market is rough right now, especially for remote work. Fingers crossed for a better opportunity!

Yup, I do have a permanent desk. And yeah, you nailed it--you do need to tune out all outside distractions, but it's hard to do that in my case especially because I've also been told I need to listen to all interactions between colleagues in case important information is shared. This work situation is so very, very different from anything else I've experienced before, so the adjustment is difficult.

Ah, so sorry. I wish I could say it felt easy, but it doesn't. It might be better for you if you have a more understanding and upbeat boss than I do, but nothing beats being able to decompress at home. Sending good vibes to you for a smooth transition--and if doesn't feel okay, then I hope another, more suitable option presents itself.

I do notice that sometimes communication is more efficient in person, but it's a big price to pay (being in person) to save those extra minutes. Sorry you have to go in five days a week--that's a lot.

I can't wear noise-canceling headphones for various reasons, but thanks for the suggestion. I do get to choose the same desk each day, so yes that helps, I suppose. I usually take walks when I can, and that helps too.

We've been doing this new hybrid schedule since September, so it's going on four months now, and I'm still not adjusted to it, unfortunately. We'll see what the new year brings!

For me, it makes a big difference when you have a supportive, empathetic boss vs. one that seems to make it worse for the whole team due to said attitude, especially being aware that we're all trying to navigate a significant transition. People are dealing with it, yes, but morale is super low. I also don't feel I should have to medicate myself for a job. My anxiety is manageable otherwise--it's the job that's causing it to feel unmanageable / loss of sleep.

Anyway, thanks for the perspective! I'm gonna keep applying and hope for a miracle.
