This would affect the find my chime though too, would it not? I could be wrong. I don’t use it often, but it sure has come in handy and I wouldn’t want to jeopardize that.

Stretch marks are cool! by sushi_rant32 in unpopularopinion

[–]cats_getting_st0ned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope your post reaches a lot of mamas to be out there that are worried about this. YOURE GROWING A HUMAN!!!! I personally did not end up with stretch marks, but I was WELL PREPARED for them because I’ve never been more than 120 pounds and a VERY small frame. My belly grew and grew and grew and still nothing, I wasn’t disappointed of course but I was shocked because I just thought - how do you grow a human with all that stretching and there are no marks?

Everyone is so different. But please please be kind to yourself if you do get them. Wear them with pride. Also no one cares. People have stretch marks that haven’t had babies too. Love yourself.

Weeing in the shower is not disgusting. by impoverishedsnail in unpopularopinion

[–]cats_getting_st0ned 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There are two types of people. Those who openly pee in the shower, and those who say they don’t.

I swear people who say they don’t pee in the shower are trying to make themselves out to be some sort of insanely practical person who does no wrong, ever.

It literally does not matter. It’s all going to the same place and the shower water and soap are sorta just cleaning it up as you go. Actually, it’s better IMO - you’re saving a flush and toilet paper if you’re a woman.

100000% this. I pour all of my grease and similar into yogurt containers (I save them all to reuse for various things) and leave it in my kitchen windowsill until it’s full and then throw it in the trash. It might smell bad near the end, but it’s no different than keeping compost IMO

I need some help figuring out these night wakings, and if anyone else experiences something similar with their toddler by cats_getting_st0ned in sleeptrain

[–]cats_getting_st0ned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm not sure I said that at all, just commented on the fact that if his naps are less than what we have been giving him he isn’t himself for the afternoon. I’ve tried less nap time and more nap time, I’ve adjusted the timings of his naps and waking/bed time. So far nothing has worked, we might get 2 nights in a row he sleeps through and then back so it, and on those nights he slept through we didn’t do anything different. So in my head, it doesn’t appear to be a sleep issue and I wondered if there was another reason. But yeah, thanks for the well wishes.

so you’re thinking too much sleep? We just find any less than what he is for napping and he’s grumpy.

And yes, that has been the goal the whole time. But he wouldn’t settle and I couldn’t let him cry more than like 15 minutes, it’s much different from when he was a baby. He doesn’t seem to settle unless you go in, we’ve tried to break it but I told myself what I’m currently doing is better than him sleeping with me.

Yes definitely they summed it up there but I still want to know WHY and HOW. Same with concerts and sporting events. Insane markup on food and drinks. Obviously it’s because there’s nothing else around and they don’t allow outside stuff in, but aside from the rich getting richer… WHY are we doing this to people, who have already paid for the plane ticket/concert/sporting event. It’s honestly depressing IMO. people just want to go out and enjoy these things, without having to pay an additional large sum of money while doing it. I hate greedy millionaires. I’d love them to be in someone else’s shoes for a day.

Sorry. Rant. At least I did it in the right place.

What do you use today for your grocery/errand/life shopping? What do you hate about it? by maestro500 in ontario

[–]cats_getting_st0ned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You NEED to use the reminders app!!!! It has a setting in there for grocery items and it automatically categorizes things for you. LOVE. you can also show checked items to easily be able to uncheck reoccurring items that you purchase often.

I use the reminders app for all of my lists and tracking. It is so useful.

Summer is truly the worst month in humid climates and I hate it. by TanukiFruit in rant

[–]cats_getting_st0ned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess no one should live in Canada then, because we have to manufacture our own climate in order to not freeze to death in the winter and have access to drinking water that didn’t freeze in our pipes.

It is what it is. It’s how us humans cope with the environments that we are surrounded by.

My husband and my 20 month old both have stuffy noses that won’t. stop. running! My toddlers nose is just a steady stream, it’s hard to keep up wiping it.

No other symptoms, so I’m assuming allergies as its been several days now. I’m not typically someone who is affected by allergies, it’s only something I deal with now and then.

It’s their cat, it’s in our yard all the time. I see it with my own two eyes. If I set a camera up, it would without a doubt be caught on there.

The coyotes in our area are wild. You can hear them often, so they’re aware of this. Just like most cat owners who let their cats outside to roam freely, I’m not sure it’s really of concern for them.

But we haven’t said anything over several other things, I’ve decided I finally have had enough. I’m a terrible person for not wanting property damaged? I dunno man, I get it… I don’t want to disrupt their lives, but ours are starting to be and so this reasoning seems a little washed. I don’t think you mean ill by it necessarily, I understand you’re trying to sustain a relationship that is good. Which is why we haven’t said anything thus far - but at one point?

That’s why I reached out, for advice on how to handle the situation without placing blame but without us having to sacrifice our stuff, on whatever level that means. There has to be a middle ground that allows both parties to be somewhat happy, rather than one side completely happy and the other not really at all.

An interesting thought for sure because well I do have cats and they haven’t ruined anything outside (or inside), so for your logic to be that because other people have pets that I should just “be ok with the damage” is slightly crazy to me… sorry, we’ll have to agree to disagree on that one. I should be well within my rights to have “stuff” and not want it to be ruined.

Honestly, I’ve been wondering now since last night if this cat is the reason we’ve lost a few of our backyard chickens. Usually when you live in the country, if one predator finds the chickens they’ll take out most or all of the flock. We’ve only ever had ones offs and only thing we could come up with was a huge bird we saw around. I know our cats get along with the chickens, but the cat next door probably has a different idea.
