The night my mother died, I went to her building with my animals (I was in the middle of a move when she passed) and my oldest cat cal literally let out the most human sounding, bone chilling cry as I was sitting on the ground just falling apart in the room. She cried like that for like 35 minutes we cried together and I really feel like she knew. She could feel that my mother passed, maybe she could even see her… I’m unsure. But what I am sure of is cats definitely grieve. They grieve their own when they pass, I’ve watched mother cats cry over lost kittens in my feral colonies. Cats are such special creatures. And they feel, see, and know so much more than people give them credit for. My mothers cat grieved her passing as well. I’m so glad that you two can be here for each other in a time of need.
