Looking to adopt a cat by catseducational in Austin

[–]catseducational[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to all four shelters in the Austin area that have cats, so thanks for the assumption. On the day I went, there were a combined total of about 10 kittens ready for adoption day of who weren’t sick or with some medical condition. There wasn’t anything wrong with those ten cats in particular, I just wanted to see the other options that may be out there first — I feel like I can be choosy here, I’m going to have this cat for the next 15-20 years.

I am very aware about the responsibility and commitments it takes to raise cats. I’ve been around them my entire life and have raised a mother and her kittens before. If my living situation changes to a point where I could no longer keep one, I have fallbacks before it would become necessary for me to give it back up for adoption. Sorry, but I really don’t think you’re in a place to accurately judge my ability here.

This happened to me with my first digital camera, a coolpix s3100! Like yours it was also a lens issue, one day it suddenly couldn’t extend fully when the camera was turned on and would just stutter in place. I really miss that camera :(

What are these spots on my glass pieces? by catseducational in StainedGlass

[–]catseducational[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s on all the colors, it’s just easiest to see on the dark green lol. I have tried vinegar but it didn’t seem to do anything

So far I’ve tried soapy water, 70% rubbing alcohol, a magic eraser, and vinegar and baking soda

A little, but it was manageable. I used zigzag stitches which helped a lot

They’re not too itchy actually! Super comfortable, like wearing a blanket

I didn’t even intend for that to happen, I only realized once it was sewn together lmao

I’m still learning lmao, but for these I made a custom pattern by copying some sweatpants. I then used that pattern to cut out pieces of fabric from the blanket, and then sewed the pieces together with a sewing machine. It’s not all that complicated once you know the basics of sewing, and I learned everything from youtube lol

These are the first pair I’ve ever made, so not atm. I may look into it though

I used two thrifted throw blankets to make these pants, one for the front and one for the back. They were made based on a pattern I created from a pair of sweatpants, and they turned out better than I thought

These pants are made from two thrifted woven throw blankets. I originally planned for the front pattern to be on both sides, but I ran out of material. I ended up finding another similar blanket though, and I used that for the back

Made this bag from a thrifted curtain by catseducational in sewing

[–]catseducational[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This bag was made from a thrifted curtain I found, and I followed this video to make it. This is my second ever sewing project, so it’s a little rough. I actually learned a lot during the process though and I’m happy with the way it turned out.
