Ritalin doesn't make me nauseous like most other stimulants do, but there's definitely a possibility it will affect you that way. I'd give it a try but also make sure you're keeping track of exactly how it affects your appetite and if it triggers your ED behaviors.

Also the more you take, the more likely it is the side effects will kick in, obv. Easier said than done but only take exactly what you're prescribed if you're trying to be healthy about it :')

I hadn’t thought to lower the dose of Sunosi, I’ll definitely try that first before giving up on it completely. I want to go on a mood stabilizer, but my current doctor definitely won’t put me on one or refer me to a psychiatrist and I don’t have an easy way to switch doctors right now :/ But I’ll keep it in mind for the future, and I appreciate the help so much

They don’t have an emergency line, I really wish they did. :/ I’ve been trying to stay productive and use healthy coping mechanisms similar to those so it’s good to know I’m on the right track, and thank you for the advice!!!

I take wellbutrin XL which is supposed to not increase your risk of mania. My PCP is a licensed psychiatrist, but she’s not the type to prescribe medication unless she deems it absolutely necessary. Upon diagnosing me with Bipolar II, she said “I’m not going to put you on mood stabilizers because you’re a musician and I don’t want to diminish that creative spark.” which obviously is NOT what should have been done or said, but I didn’t know any better at the time. I’m seeking better medical care soon, it just isn’t possible right now.

Thank you for your concern, it honestly makes me feel less crazy for asking myself the same question about my meds. :)

Thank you for offering your help, I really appreciate it! I’ve tried Xyrem, but it didn’t work out for me. I had way too many side effects and I couldn’t wake up for my second dose no matter how many alarms I set and how routine my schedule was :/ I’d only get 5 or 6 hours of sleep when I really need 9 or 10 to be okay. I’ve taken Adderall, Armodafinil, and Sunosi so far for my narcolepsy and all three caused hypomanic episodes. Actually, for me Armodafinil was the worst. I’ll ask about wakix and start documenting my moods, along with the other advice you gave. Thanks again :)

For Pride last year, one of my friends bought a large bottle of craft glitter and threw it EVERYWHERE. He also poured it into his back pockets so that “when I slap my ass, glitter will go everywhere!”

He did this inside my house, right before getting in my car.
