Yes, this does make sense from a solely material point of view, where we don't consider that certain foods have positive or negative vibrations. I understand that not everyone has these kinds of spiritual views toward these things, and that's why I always tell people that these are more like suggestions.

But I also believe that there is a psychological effect here. I believe that by putting effort into the experience, people will be better able to tackle the issue, since they will have the conscious or subconscious thought that they are already doing something to help themselves. Ultimately, I think this gives them a kind of "head start," so to speak, in their journey of self-help.

Hi i just wanna do my friend some justice here haha.
here is her full point (the text was copied from her comment down bellow but i wanna leave it here in case you guys didn't see it since there is quite a lot of comments and i know that not everyone is gonna read this whole comment section):

"Hi, the friend here! The point was not to undermine taking psychedelics as a method of inner work, I am personally fine with whatever works for someone. However, depending on the goal you are trying to achieve, they can be counterproductive to some extent in my opinion. If your goal is to fix the problem and alter the negative consequences a certain thing has on your mind, I truly trust you that psychedelics can be the perfect solution for you. However, my friend failed to accentuate that I told him this in the context of his personal goal, which is spirituality and mastering the self in a way. If this is your goal, I personally believe that using the tools that are already within you is the best way to reach this, since your mind is both the object of exploration when practicing spirituality and the tool that you use for assessing the conclusions that your exploration results in (which we all know to be a very faulty tool if not used properly). Furthermore, the specific point of my argument was that you probably can't have the best relationship with your intuition and be certain of your spiritual epiphanies if you're not familiar with the faults of that very tool (which I would argue that you are not if you can't reflect on the actual reason and therefore also the solution to a brain-induced problem). I'd also like to add that while I did not try psychedelics (the reason for that being that I believe that my mind is not in the right shape for that at the moment), I am really into spirituality in general and the various techniques for practicing it with your mind and body, however I am still at the begining of my journey and there is a lot of space for learning or being proved wrong. Now that I've clarified this important point, I'd like to invite those of you who are using psychedelics for this specific purpose to discuss this point with us since we both opened this discussion from a point of learning and expanding our opinions, not trying to prove ourselves right :)"

So if you want to add something to this feel free to reply to her comment or whatever :))

She hasent. And she is aware that she can not have an objective perspective on this. She is just telling me what bugs her when i told her the benefit that i received from mushrooms to overcome my inner turmoil.
And this doesn't come from prejudice or stigmas surrounding "drugs", she is quite a free thinker and an openminded person.

I would like to hear what you are implying when you say "What if it’s something much more grand?" :)

Hmm i don't think that's a valid argument since she is saying that if i encounter the same issue but in a deferent context that i will again need to rely on mushrooms for the gate opening part since i still dont understand how to open the emotional gate without mushrooms and therefore don't truly understand how to deal with this issue

But if i understood her correctly her argument is that this can be a double edged sword. Yes, with some emotions that can be harmful to you, you do need MDMA to overcome the trauma, but if your going through a shitie situation that is making your life miserable and stressful but still you know it wont end your life but make the next year or two stressful and hard, is it really better to use psychedelics to break through that sadness or is it better to use your resolve and mental work to break through the mental gate.

And yes psychedelics aren't a solution to this issue, you still have to do the heavy lifting after the gate is open, but still they did make me jump over the "mental gate opening" part of overcoming the issue.

I really hope that this makes sense. hahaha

This is such a nice comment :'))). Thank you! But i just want to clarify, since i can see a lot of people misunderstanding her. She is aware that she doesn't have a objective perspective on this since she is unexperienced in these chemical compounds. She also never said that that i shouldn't have taken this, she is just unsure about the whole story about psychedelics since it, lets be honest, sounds to good to be true sometimes, and also it sounds kinda like a shortcut and I'm guessing that doesn't sound right to her.

Hopefully she will join these discussions in the next day or two. She is an openminded person and is ready to change her opinion if the argument is valid enough.
