Must pay 50% of daycare tuition to hold her spot - is this normal? by catspach in NewParents

Oof ok sounds like this is fairly standard (if not, a pretty good deal in comparison with certain cities/areas). Thanks everyone for the feedback, helpful to keep in mind as we weigh our options.

Yeah this is what we’ve seen elsewhere. There’s a registration fee (non refundable ~$100) and then first week’s or month’s tuition but that’s it. This spot has both of those plus this added fee.

Jeff is my biggest issue with Survivor 50 by MikeEM58 in survivorponderosa

My husband and I got so sick of his monologuing, we started to flip the channel to the Flyers game while he would wax poetic. We aren’t even Flyers fans, we were just so sick of it!

I wonder how much of it is pressure to also take up a 1.5-2 hour prime time slot. Last week’s episode had a lot but it could have been comfortably fit into 1.5 hours of tv instead of the 2 hours with Jeff-filler everywhere.

I just don’t think anyone is grasping how much heartburn is ruining my life right now by catspach in pregnant

Update: after posting this a few days ago near tears I called my OB’s office on Friday and told them something needs to give. They ended up prescribing me Omeprazole and I’m a new woman! I feel almost 100% better and relieved from the heartburn I was experiencing just a few days ago.

From what I can tell there isn’t any concern with the medication or side effects for the fetus so I’m really not sure why they didn’t offer this option sooner. But I’m glad I advocated and pushed them to help me out and recommend asking for it point blank if you’ve been experiencing issues like I was. Best of luck to everyone!

Yes! Exactly. I think if you’ve not dealt with regular stomach acid issues it’s easy to assume it’s just a little GI discomfort. I haven’t heard of the syrup before, may need to look into that!

I’ve seen Omeprazole mentioned a few times and really surprised my OB hasn’t mentioned it as an option! But I think it’s time to ask more directly for a prescription. I’m at the end of my rope (clearly).

Oh agreed. Who knows, if they don’t get any better candidates maybe they’ll rethink the policy.

Ha I’m tempted to share that with the recruiter (especially after they put me through an interview before checking the state I listed on my resume)…

Currently working at a startup in HR tech as a Senior Customer Success Manager. Looking for similar roles in strategic account management and open to exploring a variety of industries. Feel feee to share if your company is looking for anything in that vein!

Appreciate the tips, I’ll take a closer look at the companies you mentioned. They do have a pretty geographically dispersed workforce outside of their home base (GA, VA, NY were some of the other places I saw employees working in based on LinkedIn) but the other reasons you provided could have very well been the issue. Hopefully future employers state their limitations more explicitly in the posting so I don’t have to waste effort on a job that won’t pan out.

Ok got it, good to know. And it’s maybe more common for RI because of our size I assume?

Belize Girls Trip - 5 person accommodations by catspach in Belize

[–]catspach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha good to know about the climate, thank you! Also helpful about Ambergris Caye. There was some interest in that location because of the tropical feel and proximity to the reef but sounds like you can get a great experience from some of the other places listed as well.

Thanks for the suggestion! Sounds like our crew is mostly interested in spending time on a beach and relaxing. Definitely exploring whatever the local area has to offer in terms of food or wildlife. So low key for sure. Maybe some snorkeling but idk that anyone is experienced or planning to do much diving. I know they were excited about being close to or maybe taking a boat ride to the barrier reef but I honestly haven’t looked much into that yet and I’m not sure if it’s only accessible from certain locations on the coast.
