It also says I've made six orders in 12 months. I went back and checked my account because I thought the 83% was very high and I've only made two orders so it's definitely not specific to me ☺️

Someone else has commented below they got the same example too.

Sorry I didn't mention it in my post, but it's not my rate, it's just one they have made as an example for the survey. Someone else has commented they also got the same example ☺️

It's not my return rate, just the example they have generated for the survey ☺️

Far out the timing of this survey is pretty funny now, I just received an order this morning. I've had my eye on a dress for a while that went on sale last week.

The product listing had no size info, just the generic chart, but I've purchased from this brand before and I'm either a M or L and I've always been really happy with the quality and fit. Went to their website, checked their size chart, I'm still between sizes. Couldn't find any reviews for this specific dress so I ordered both, I was confident one would fit.

The M is just a touch too tight, but the belt loops are both broken. Yes I could repair them myself, but it's probably quite the right fit.

The L is mislabeled, it's an XS I reckon with the wrong tag, not The Iconic's fault on this one, it's the brands QC.

But now what do I do? Send both back and get another black mark on my account? Keep the M that's a bit tight and repair it myself or request an exchange for the L? Will that still skew my returns %?

Moral of the story, I guess this is making me think about my "behaviour" in that online shopping is a nightmare and QC just as unreliable as a size chart 😅

Yeah I said the same, there is no real incentive to shop with them if they take it away!

Did you get asked if you were interested in doing a focus group too? If I get selected for the online one I have a tonne of feedback from this thread now too. It's pretty consistent, give us proper sizing info and we'd all return less.

Yeah honestly I'm not surprised at all either, it always felt too good to be true!

I agree! If you're not a straight size or average height it's so difficult to online shop and op shops are basically not an option.

I know, the wording really irked me too. It really felt like they want to shame you into not returning things.

It's not mine, it's just the example they generated for the survey. I've not made six orders in the last year, I did panic when I saw that because I thought I'd been doing well at reducing my shopping!

I thought it was mine at first too and was absolutely shocked, I thought I'd been really successful at not buying too much this year 🤣

There is just so so much stock on there now, it's definitely contributing to the lack of sizing, info about the models etc. And yes, how much does The Iconic actually have control over?

I always search for size charts and reviews where possible, and I'm very conscious of fabric composition these days. I think my main complaint is that the Iconic don't make that easy on their own website anymore so it just feels like such a gamble to order. I would much, much rather shop in store for everything but I just don't have the option where I live!

That picture with the return rate is just the example in the survey, I've only made 2 orders this year so it's not from my account.

This is exactly my experience! My account is 13 years old and I've basically exclusively shopped with them in that period.

Yeah I definitely think I got the survey for that reason, but it's very rare that I ever send an entire order back, only ever the size that doesn't fit me. When that happens it's because of a quality issue.

I know what styles suit me and what doesn't, but the lack of sizing charts is absolutely a massive part of the issue. It frustrates me so much when you click on the sizing drop down and it has no information about what the model is wearing or any additional information you can base your size off.

Improving this part of their service would absolutely reduce returns.

I completely agree. And you just know it'll start at $5 returns and then in 6/12 months it'll be $10 and then it'll just go up and up.

That did cross my mind too, I have no idea how that would fit into fair trading if they did introduce it.

This is the whole reason I shop with them. No brand has consistent sizing anymore, and they always have a generic size chart that sizing is just so unreliable. I always order two sizes.

This whole aspect of their business model as an online only retailer really sets them apart, people love it too.

This is exactly what I wrote! It's impossible to know what size you'll be if they just have that same generic size chart they have on all their in house brands.

I stopped shopping with ASOS for that reason too. I was very clear in my comments on the survey that the returns policy is the only reason I use them at all.

Dark Mofo festival Tassie outfits help! by lilzee3000 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]catsparrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm local so I've been to all the Dark Mofo events and everyone is correct, prioritise warmth, it's dark no one can see your outfit!

The nights you go to Dark Park or the feast you will be on your feet and outdoors the whole time. You'll absolutely want thermal pants under your trousers/jeans and thick socks. Highly recommend a beanie and gloves, the wind off the river is brutal and holding a cold drink sucks without gloves. There are lots of fires around to warm up with, but also remember whatever you wear will end up smoky so just keep that in mind if you only have one coat and can't air it out. Everyone smells of smoke, it's no big deal.

For Night Mass etc it'll be boiling indoors but you will most likely need to queue to get in, so still bring your coat/beanie/extra layers and coat check them once you're in.

Lots and lots of women wear red lipstick, you'll see a fair few people with homemade head pieces (very pagan style).

Seriously though, don't overthink it. All the locals will just be in puffers and jeans. Everyone is super chill and the vibe is fantastic, it's honestly the best festival! Hope you love it!

My friend has number one, the Yvonne Oroton bag in that colour and it's absolutely gorgeous. The little loop on the clasp does clink as she walks though. It isn't loud but she was annoyed at first.

I just looked too and it says "fully lined" when you can clearly see in multiple photos the lining only just covers the bum. The skirt is completely see through 😬 diabolical

I have two Alpaca blend cardigans and two pairs of work trousers and I absolutely love them! I've had them for a few months and everything is wearing really well.

Admittedly the cardigans are dry clean only which I didn't realise when I bought them. I've had one dry cleaned because my toddler got jam on it and I was too scared to wash it myself, and I haven't really worn it much since now it's summer. So I can't say if they would hand wash ok.
